The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed that some benefit payments will be made earlier than usual due to the upcoming Christmas and New Year bank holidays

Some claimants of the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) will see their benefit payments affected over the festive period due to the upcoming bank holidays, resulting in many people receiving their payments earlier than usual.

When a benefit payment is scheduled to fall on a bank holiday, it is instead issued on the previous working day. This means that payments due on December 25 and 26 will be made on Christmas Eve, while payments scheduled for New Year’s Day will be paid on December 31.
