Visit Qatar Brings back Brouq Winter Desert experience to Ras Abrouq

Along Qatar’s tranquil west coast lies Ras Abrouq, a dramatic peninsula defined by chalk-white cliffs, sculpted rock formations and sweeping coastal desert vistas. Known locally as Brouq, this striking landscape combines raw natural beauty with deep-rooted cultural heritage, offering visitors a rare opportunity to reconnect with nature just a short journey from anywhere in the GCC.

This winter, Visit Qatar brings back the Brouq initiative for its second edition, running from 26 November 2025 to 17 January 2026. The destination will once again transform Ras Abrouq into a vibrant open-air experience, blending adventure, culture, wildlife encounters, workshops, live entertainment and curated culinary offerings.

Visitors can explore the iconic Film City zone, where traditional crafts, storytelling sessions and falcon photography bring Qatar’s heritage to life. In the Wildlife Zone, guided safari experiences introduce guests to the region’s unique desert ecosystem. Thrill-seekers can head to the Desert Escape zone, home to Qatar’s longest zipline, a 25-metre-high adventure tower, live stage performances, outdoor dining concepts and a full programme of workshops and family-friendly activities throughout the day.

From puppet shows and face painting for younger visitors to traditional dhow-building and palm-weaving workshops for adults, Brouq has been thoughtfully designed to ensure there is something memorable for every age group.

For those seeking a slower pace, the Our Habitas luxury glamping experience offers private seaside pods that combine comfort and privacy with unforgettable nights beneath the desert sky.

A GCC getaway rooted in heritage

For travellers across the GCC, Brouq presents an ideal weekend escape — close enough for a short journey, yet immersive enough to feel worlds away. General admission is priced at QAR 50 for adults and QAR 30 for children, with access to live entertainment, cultural showcases, workshops and family zones included, offering excellent value for visitors seeking authentic regional experiences.

Qatar is easily accessible from most GCC cities, with short flight times and seamless entry for GCC nationals, who enjoy visa-free access using a national ID card, alongside expedited arrival procedures at Hamad International Airport. Those travelling by road can also enter via the Abu Samra land border.

Beyond Brouq, Qatar offers a diverse calendar of cultural, entertainment and seasonal experiences. Through Qatar Calendar, visitors can discover a year-round programme of festivals, exhibitions, sporting events and family activities across the country, ensuring there is always something new to explore.
