A flight from Manchester to Copenhagen saw its landing disrupted following an issue involving a child. Norwegian flight D83523 left Manchester Airport on Monday morning (December 22) and was due to land in Denmark’s capital at 11.35am local time.

But the descent was disrupted following an incident involving a child, the airline confirmed. A passenger told the Manchester Evening News that the aircraft ‘had to do an emergency pull up whilst in descent’.

The Norwegian airline says members of cabin crew and a ‘number of helpful passengers’ were needed to resolve the issue. The witness described the scenes as ‘chaos’. A flight path from FlightAware shows the aircraft approaching Copenhagen Airport, before diverting towards the city centre and doing a loop.

The flight eventually landed at 12.15pm local time. A Norwegian airline spokesperson said: “We can confirm that an unforeseen situation involving a child occurred on board flight D83523 during the descent into Copenhagen.

“With the assistance of our experienced cabin crew and a number of helpful passengers, the situation was brought under control and the aircraft landed safely. Out of consideration for those involved, and as this concerns a sensitive situation, we do not wish to comment further.”
