Niclas Fullkrug has begun his medical with Milan ahead of his move from West Ham United, and is on course to be part of Massimiliano Allegri’s first-team squad for the first match of the new year.
Fullkrug is set to join Milan on loan with an option to buy from West Ham. The Germany international arrived in the city on Monday night, is having his medical on Tuesday, and is expected to train with his new teammates for the first time on Wednesday, Christmas Eve.
According to updates from Gianluca Di Marzio, Fullkrug is set to sign his Milan contract on Tuesday afternoon.

— MilanNews.it (@MilanNewsit) December 23, 2025 According to recent reports, Milan will pay the full extent of Fullkrug’s salary, but will not have to pay West Ham a loan fee.
Original reports suggested that the option to buy would be for a price in the region of €11m to €13m, but updates on Monday claim this could actually be as low as €5m.
Fullkrug is expected to be part of Milan’s matchday squad on January 2, the same day that the transfer window officially opens in Italy.
The Rossoneri have received an exemption from the league that allows them to sign players on January 2 and play them on the same day. Prior to this change of rule, Fullkrug would have been ineligible due to the lack of time to process the documents of his transfer.
