When Do Markets Shut for Christmas? When Do They Reopen?

Markets will close early on Christmas Eve and reopen on Friday, Dec. 26.

U.S. markets close early on Wednesday for Christmas Eve. Stock markets will shut at 1 p.m. ET and bond markets are set to close an hour later.

Markets will be closed Thursday for Christmas Day and will resume regular trading on Friday.

New Year’s Eve falls on Wednesday next week. Bond markets will close early, at 2 p.m.

Both stock and bond markets will be closed on the following day, Thursday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s Day.
