IBM BladeCenter H moves into My Playhouse - 167

My newly acquired IBM /Lenovo BladeCenter H is in this video changes places with my somewhat older BladeCenter E

It weighs up to 164 kg, so it requires a little work on my part before I can replace it by myself.

I'm curious about the move to the H from the E. In your earlier video, you mentioned the E would complain about the HS22 blades. Was that the reason you switched or were there other reasons?

Great videos! Just subscribed to your channel this week and I have already watched many hours. I was wondering if you could do a video on tape drives, I remember seeing that you had a tape library in your data center and I think it would be really cool for you to show it.

Quick question, how much power does your Dell Equallogic with the 2Tb drives use? I have a NetApp disk shelf with 14 750Gb drives and it uses around 300-350w and I would like to see how your unit compares

I came across a bladecenter H yesterday and brought it home with 8 blades ranging from HS to HX5 with 128GB og DDR3 RAM and paid 500$ for it all. And if that werent enough i also brought home a powervault md1000. (As far my reasearch found out) Which is good as i have 3 poweredge 2950 servers. But + I got over 20TB with system storage drives for a vault i can connect to the bladecenter with fiber modules. Only down side is that my breaker is a 10A so i can't turn it on or use it at all. But why the heck not?

  28. @JSLEnterprises

    October 26, 2024 at 3:50 am

Serious question…. how much power does all that old equipment eat per day? 450kw?

  29. @FunfakeElectronics

    October 26, 2024 at 3:50 am

What's the cost of an all-equiped IBM Blade center E & H ? Do you live in this home or it's just a work-home and you have another ?

Im starting my playhouse off with 2x HP DL360 G7s, 1x HP DL180 G6 and 1x Dell PowerConnect 6248P 48 port layer 3 full PoE switch. All 3 have xeons, the 2 DL360s have dual X5650s and 32GB RAM and the DL180 has dual E5520s with 8GB RAM. The DL180 has 12x SATA/SAS 3.5" drive bays and will be used as my xpenology SAN/NAS providing shares and iSCSI to my pc and DL360s. I currently have 4x WD RED 4TB drives in it and plan to have more. Just you know…. money

If I was building a data center I would buy a dell fx2, 1000e and the VRTX blade enclosures. These blade enclosures allow for customization like using half height, full height, and quarter height blade servers

Thank you for watching I LOVE YOU

What is Roblox? ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on ROBLOX is designed and constructed by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 13 to 18 year olds, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars (“Robux”). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.
