West Ham Open Talks to Sign Kaio Jorge to Replace Fullkrug

West Ham are desperate to sign a new striker in a bid to preserve their Premier League status. A disastrous start to the season has left the Hammers in 18th position in the table with just three wins from 17 games.

With a five-point gap on 17th-place Nottingham Forest, it means that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have some serious work to do.

Among the lowest scorers in the Premier League with 19 goals from 17 games, West Ham need to add goals to their team if they’re to win the required games to finish the season with their heads above water.

West Ham have opened talks over a deal to sign Kaio Jorge in January, according to TeamTalk.

The 23-year-old, who plays for Cruzeiro, has been in wonderful form this year with 26 goals and nine assists in 46 appearances in 2025. As a result, Jorge was handed his first senior Brazil cap earlier this year.

A top target for the Hammers, the Brazilian side are hoping for a deal worth £26.2milllion and had an offer worth that amount from Russian side Zenit St Petersburg. However, with Jorge keen on a move to one of Europe’s elite leagues, a switch to the Premier League side could appeal.

The Hammers have endured difficulties in the centre-forward position for many years now, and they have a lack of options heading into the second half of the season. GIVEMESPORT sources have confirmed that Niclas Fullkrug is set to join AC Milan on loan in the January transfer window, leaving Nuno Espirito Santo with just Callum Wilson as his only natural senior striker.

Hammers Must Sign Experience In January

Wolverhampton Wanderers' Jorgen Strand Larsen

While a deal to sign Kaio Jorge would undoubtedly be an exciting signing, West Ham desperately need experience in the January transfer window.

In their current position, the Hammers need players who can come in and immediately perform in order to help the club to pick up the required points needed to avoid relegation.

While Jorge could prove to have the quality to do that, Nuno must surely see the need to sign players who have been there and done it.

Haji Wright of Coventry and Josh Sargent of Norwich have both been linked with a move. Signing both players would be an expensive deal to do, but at least West Ham would be getting players who are familiar with the challenges that English football presents.

Jorgen Strand Larsen has also been linked with a move and could be just the tonic for West Ham’s current situation. While his time at Wolves hasn’t been great this term, he’s previously shown his ability at this level and that could make him the ideal candidate for right now.
