Three new shops proposed on former working men’s club site
The council has granted permission to convert the Darlington Central Working Men’s Club on Beaumont Street into three separate retail units.
Approved plans include internal subdivision of the ground floor and the creation of new entrances and shopfronts for each unit.
Crazy golf facility approved at Dolphin Centre
Listed building consent has been granted for the installation of a nine-hole crazy golf course within the Dolphin Centre’s Central Hall.
The scheme includes the replacement of six west-facing windows and a series of interior alterations, such as the removal of partition walls, ceiling, and floor finishes.
New structural openings will also be created as part of the approved fit-out works.
Drone facility at Amazon Distribution Centre
Approval has been issued for an operational management plan linked to the construction of a drone launch and landing facility at the Amazon Distribution Centre in Symmetry Park.
The development includes a fenced compound featuring pads for take-off and landing, an ancillary office, storage space, a weather station, and an airlock.
Plans also involve the reconfiguration of an existing bus drop-off area.
Warehouse extension in Faverdale
CMO Stores Ltd has been granted permission to extend its warehouse on Hannah Court Business Park.
The approved development involves an extension to the east elevation of the existing building and will be used for additional stock storage.
Caravan site approved in Summerhouse
A Certificate of Lawfulness has been granted for the siting of a caravan within the domestic curtilage at Rosemary, Staindrop Road in Summerhouse.
The proposal, submitted under permitted development rights, confirms that the caravan can be accommodated without the need for full planning permission.
