Another video montage when it's finished would be great as well. Those 3d files will come in handy, thanks. *chuckling like a kid*

I've seen these before but not as encased and sleek as this one. Picked one up to play with so keep us updated! Need some kind of hotswap bay for 4 ssd even if it's usb.

  4. @JohnPMiller

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Cute! Do you have a link to the 5V 10A power supply?

  5. @JasonLeaman

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Would be sweet if we could get 1u Xeon D boxes in there and do a cluster & a small micro storage unit!! Could be sweet & powerful ! Good video !

  6. @Zeuzere

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Do you know if power rack (PDU) exist in 10 inch ?
How much space you have left behind? between switch and back panel ? Enough to put power bar and cables ?

  7. @jameswilson4920

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Nice box but you should almost reprint the parts and make them more recessed for cable management, looks a little tight!

  8. @kirksteinklauber260

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Nice video but personally I will go with a full 19 inch rack. I suggest to go with keystone patch panel so you can connect patch cords on the back of the patch panel to connect your devices with the switch. In theory the out of the LAN ports of the Raspberry Pis should go to the back of the patch panel but as the LAN ports are in front I wonder how you plan to do that. The front panel of the patch panel will connect to your NetGear switch.

    Perfect!

  10. @NerdyX90

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

    Perfect for home.

  11. @bluesquadron593

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

I just think you limit yourself with these small rack.

  12. @JohnPMiller

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

I would suggest making a 2U Raspberry Pi / 2.5" storage mount with devices mounted vertically and Pi microSD facing forward or backward. It would have better density and better cooling if mounted at the top (use that extra 1U space). This could be useful when Pi Foundation starts shipping the Pi 5 with SATA and M.2 connectors. 😉

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

The switch is actually called a manged switch

  14. @4NowIsGood

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Is there enough room in the front to close the door and not crunch the wires? maybe make a filler panel with a hole to loop the wires neatly through to get to the front panel..

  15. @gnatsum64

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Hey Don, just thought I'd leave my 2 cents. You could fit more Pi's if you switched their orientation and mount them sideways. Also, for those not wanting to deal with punching down cables, modular patch panels with keystones have been my goto. I like that I can get keystones for ethernet, fiber, coax, or basically whatever I need and not have to buy another patch panel.

  16. @MysticWhiteDragon.

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Instead of a mini-ITX PC, how about a NUC like PC. That would allow for additional space for some hard drives to allow it to also be a NAS.

  17. @ddub9968

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

That's a nice little setup. Just needs a PDU and maybe a small UPS.

  18. @jamess1787

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

AHHHH! NOOOOOOO! 19" IS STANDARD. STICK WITH IT!

  19. @deanlawson6880

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Nice little rack. I would go for the 19" full width version of this to accommodate my 19" Cisco Network switch, and router. Also, a full width 19" patch panel would accommodate all of the patch panels and ports I have that go to my (current) stack and mess of equipment..

  20. @techgamer-channeldeleted6951

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

This Is ultra use full and cute 🤭

  21. @MrPipDarty

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Just a thought, with it being such a minimalist rack, and most of the installed appliances having front mounted ethernet such as the Pi's and the switch, you could save yourself 1U and for something like the ITX pc should you implement one as a nas or pfsesne router just print a keystone into the front panel of the itx pc's U and run a passthrough patch cable, and all exterior runs for the cabinet could just be run straight into the switch.

  22. @LiLBitsDK

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

would definetly had put the patch panel at the top

  23. @freakern

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

I suggest you to use a keystone patch-panel which is more convenient for cable management. I think you will change it very often so the LSA connectors could wear out and you have network problems.

  25. @Sylvan_dB

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Hmm, that looks like a great rack to house a raspberry pi cluster. I was thinking to use just a few 19in trays, but dedicating a cabinet would be much cleaner.

I have a larger model, pretty much the same. Got it for 15 dollars Au. I got it for my 3D printer. Plus I got a full server rack for my batteries.

  29. @NatorDM

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Put a 1u surge protector up top facing the opposite way outlets toward the back and put your name or logo on the back so you can see it.

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

I was expecting to see the pi ip kvm in there.

  31. @alipan99

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Is there a PDU for that size of rack?

  32. @melo0187

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Nice video although honestly the most interesting thing to me would have been to see it with wires. Thinking of setting up all my networking and server stuff in such a rack, but never did anything the like before. So I wonder how you would wire everything up.
And I also wonder how you would actually patch the cables to the patch panel if you have to already put the panel inside the rack 🤔

  33. @cdp181

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

poe switch and poe hats for the pi's can also make a nice option for power.

    10 inch ITX server case?
    what one?

  37. @CrisanBogdan

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

I have a friend that ended up buying one of these 10 inch racks instead of the 19 inch version.. reason was "this was the cheapest"
I was supposed to help with the unboxing 🙂 instead I helped with the return process LOL

  38. @supremerulah420

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Maybe a status display(s) on the top? Network status, pi stats, ITX status… 👍

  39. @zeritooverride

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

I got this rack and was trying to do something similar but the brackets are smaller and the screws won't reach. The Pi's fit fine. They either sent me the wrong one or I did something wrong on my prints.

  40. @thegreenguy8837

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Allways put in the bottom screws of a rackmount device first. They will hold the weight of the device without issues.

  41. @abn0rm1

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

That's a MANAGED switch, not a smart switch, there is no such thing.

  42. @darrenoleary5952

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Have you got the details of the power supply you were going to use for the Pi's?
Would be good to free up a socket on my rack's power rail.

  43. @davidrediger6407

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Use one Pi for a NAS server and use the 1U bank area for the HDDs. You can use the 2U area for Pi Clusters also.

  44. @PWingert1966

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Since I hate punching things down, I would have printed up a blank panel that would have held 8 couplers and saved myself the effort of punching down stuff.

  45. @presleycharles1906

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

i need three little racks how can i pay for that please

  46. @SkysTrains

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

im going to build in this and hopefully print a matx case for a router along with a shelf for switches and my synology nas, also in the future other stuff. i found the main website and they sell a 12u, so im caught between the 12u and the 9u. it will live in my basement most likely but idk how much space ill have

edit: i will be getting the 6u and got a 2u 3d printable itx case and 2 u's for a switch and 2 clients (server and media pc) so i should have 2u to use for other stuff later on. yes this is for a project and also for fun

  47. @cdoublejj

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

those patch panels kind of suck. key stone patch panels are modular. also if you try to punch down cat6 or cat6a shielded you will loose your shielding at the patch. these panels are ok if you will never add or change anything and are using cat5e, which i do on very rare occasion.

  48. @thunderneedles8482

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

Ohh it’s really small I love it! I was looking at it on Amazon but was worried that it was big ! But now I might get it for my switches and mini pcs 😊

  49. @xar3434

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

    for power outage please

  50. @winandd8649

    October 26, 2024 at 6:16 pm

The total width of the enclosure is still too much imo.. I've made a 10 inch rack of 6mm plywood. (sides are 12mm because grooves for slides) All devices are mounted on shelves that can be slide in and out of the rack from the front..

Thank you for watching I LOVE YOU

What is Roblox? ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on ROBLOX is designed and constructed by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 13 to 18 year olds, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars (“Robux”). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.
