Bellway completes its 600th home at Wynyard Estate

The property is part of a long-term vision for Wynyard Estate, originally developed by Sir John Hall, former chairman of Newcastle United, who purchased the estate in the 1980s.

His plans saw the area transformed into a high-quality residential community, complete with a golf course, hotel, spa, and employment and leisure facilities, all set within landscaped parkland.

Bellway, which first became involved in the project in the late 1990s, has now completed its 600th home at its Regency Manor development.

Rachel Kitchen, finance director for Bellway Durham, said: “Reaching our 600th home here is an important milestone.

“The Wynyard Estate is one of the most desirable addresses in the North East and Bellway has played a key role in bringing the vision for this location to life.

“Now hundreds of people are living in and enjoying quality homes here, forming a new community and making the most of the beautiful location, with workplaces and wonderful leisure facilities nearby.

“Our developments here have brought wider benefits too, including supporting local employment and creating an improved environment through planting and landscaping.”

Bellway’s North East division delivered 409 homes at Wynyard between 1998 and 2014, before its Durham division took on the Regency Manor site.

Once the 258-home scheme is complete, the total number of houses built by Bellway at Wynyard Estate will reach 667.

The third and final phase of Regency Manor is currently underway, with two showhomes recently opened.

Four and five-bedroom houses are currently available starting from £374,995.

Wynyard remains one of the North East’s most popular housing destinations, reflecting the growing demand for high-quality developments.
