Strictly fans feared for ‘tired’ Amy Dowden a WEEK before her shock collapse saying ‘should she be on the show?’
STRICTLY fans were first to spot Amy Dowden didn’t seem herself the week before she collapsed.
The professional dancer was dramatically rushed to hospital after the incident that happened backstage on Saturday night.
The ballroom and Latin American dancer and JLS singer JB Gill performed a foxtrot to Dancing In The Moonlight by Toploader on Saturday (October 26) night’s Halloween week show, scoring 32.
The dancer was absent from the Sunday night results show, however, after being rushed to hospital.
Many fans had already taken to Reddit to discuss how tired she looked the weekend before, with many questioning if she had returned to TV screens too soon.
One fan said: “Amy looked extremely tired – perhaps for obvious reasons.”
“That poor woman has been to hell and back with her health all her life – particularly in the last year…I can’t help but feel maybe it was a touch too soon for her?”
Another fan agreed it was too soon for the pro, commenting: “I think Amy rushed back … but didn’t take into consideration how gruelling it would be just a year after such aggressive cancer treatment.”
“Someone in charge should have put their foot down.”
Another commented: “She’s had multiple health issues. A broken foot, sepsis, blood clots etc … can’t help but feel she came back too soon.”
The pro has been battling cancer for the last 18 months.
Amy revealed her stage three breast cancer diagnosis in May 2022 after discovering a lump before flying to the Maldives with her husband, Ben Jones.
The diagnosis meant she missed the 2023 show while she underwent gruelling Chemotherapy, which saw her lose her hair.
The much-loved dancer, who also suffers from Crohn’s disease, finished chemotherapy in November 2022 before returning to Strictly Come Dancing for the 2024 series.
Following her recent health scare, The Sun revealed that professional dancer, Lauren Oakley, 33, will replace Amy for Monday’s rehearsals while she recovers.
A source said: “Lauren will be stepping in today to train with JB.”
“It’s unclear when Amy will be back but everyone just wants her to rest and get better.”

Hulk Hogan struggles with trademark routine during surprise appearance at Trump rally
Former professional wrestler and actor Hulk Hogan struggled with a routine he has performed throughout his career during a surprise appearance at a Trump rally.
Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, has become an outspoken supporter of Trump in the current election campaign, even going as far as to joke about body slamming Kamala Harris and questioning her ethnicity.
The former WWE champion, 76, was a surprise speaker at the rally in Madison Square Garden, which also controversially featured appearances from Dr Phil and comedian Tony Hinchcliffe.
In typically over-the-top fashion, Hogan made his entrance to his “Real American” theme song while waving the American flag.
He then attempted to rip his shirt from his own chest, a routine that he has done since the 1980s but got into a real tussle with the top.
In what has previously been a seamless act for the grappler, Hogan got into a real tussle with the neck of the shirt which appeared to go on for an eternity.
Eventually, Hogan got the better of the garment and ripped it in two to reveal a Trump shirt underneath.
His performance has largely been mocked on social media. “An elderly Hulk Hogan struggling to rip his shirt off is such a perfect metaphor for the Trump campaign,” wrote one person.
Another said: “I sincerely feel bad for anyone who grew up with Hulk Hogan as their GOAT.”
A third added: “Pretty funny that Hulk Hogan can’t pull off his shirt. Things are getting pretty geriatric in Trump world.”

A fourth told Hogan to “hang it up, brother!”
Hogan did go on to give a rousing speech to Trump’s fans, defending them against accusations of racism. “You know something, Trump-a-maniacs? I don’t see no stinking Nazis in here. I don’t see no stinking domestic terrorists in here,” said the Rocky III star.
“The only thing that I see in here are a bunch of hard-working men and women that are real Americans, brother. You know what I hear in my president and our president Donald Trump, he sounds for real, brother.”
He also took an opportunity to take a swipe at Harris, saying “when I hear Kamala speak, it sounds, yeah, it sounds like a script from Hollywood with a really, really [spitting sound] bad actress!”
Trump’s use of the likes of Hogan and Kid Rock for his campaign has been ridiculed by the likes of Pete Buttigieg. In July, the transport secretary said: “If your party has been systematically against unions, against a higher minimum wage, against things like paid family leave, against overtime, then just because you found Hulk Hogan and Kid Rock and put it on stage doesn’t make you a friend of the working man.”

Emmerdale’s Alice Dingle looks unrecognisable 20 years after she quit acting for whole new career
EMMERDALE actress Ursula Holden-Gill was last seen in the ITV soap nearly twenty years ago.
The soap actress, who played Emmerdale‘s Alice Dingle, first arrived in the Dales in 2004 and was a firm favourite with viewers.
Married to Sam Dingle, played by James Hooton, she was a loving wife and a doting mum to son Samson.
Yet tragedy struck and ITV viewers and soap fans were left broken hearted when Alice tragically passed away in 2006 after being diagnosed with cancer whilst pregnant.
The heartbreaking storyline saw Alice push on and ignore doctor’s advice as she wanted to become a mother, and she gave birth to her and Sam’s son prematurely.
After trying chemotherapy treatment, Alice was ultimately given a terminal diagnosis with just months to live.
Not wanting to waste away, Alice planned her own death in a euthanasia plan with husband Sam and she died of a morphine overdose in 2006.
The tragic story saw Ursula win the Best Soap Actress Award, at the TV Quick and TV Choice Awards in 2006.
After leaving Emmerdale, Ursula moved away from acting and focused on an entirely new career with a move into teaching.
She qualified from a teaching course but has now moved into therapy, and qualified as a Dramatherapist in 2022.
She’s also built out her career with other qualifications, including training to become a Celebrant with The Order Of Bards, Ovates and Druids.
Working as a Family Celebrant, Ursula conducts baby naming, Civil Partnership, funeral, memorial, wedding ceremonies and renewal of vows.
Her website explains: “All proceeds from Ursula’s work as a Celebrant are gifted to her chosen charity: Compassion in World Farming.”
Ursula’s last on screen role was in 2017 as a Clerk in the TV mini-series In the Dark.
The former actress also looks worlds away from her on-screen role as Alice Dingle, who was known for her short fiery red hair.
Now Ursula has light brown hair shaped into a bob, looking drastically different to her Emmerdale character.

Saoirse Ronan schools Graham Norton guests with 10-word reality check | Culture
Saoirse Ronan’s 10-word schooling of male guests on The Graham Norton Show left them silenced on Friday, 25 October.
The Blitz star appeared alongside Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington and Eddie Redmayne to discuss their respective projects.
As The Day of the Jackal actor recounted being told to use his phone as a weapon while learning self-defence, Mescal laughed off the idea, saying: “Who is actually going to think about that?”
The sofa was left in silence as Ronan responded with: “That’s what girls have to think about all the time.”
She was met with a round of applause from the audience.

Strictly in new ‘sexism’ row as viewers accuse Shirley Ballas of playing favourites
STRICTLY is facing a new row over ‘sexism’ on the show – as Shirley Ballas is accused of favouring the male contestants.
The head judge is under fire from fans following Dr Punam Krishan‘s axe last night.
The TV doctor went head to head with Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu to fight for their place in the competition.
After Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood all voted to save Shayne, Shirley agreed she would have done the same.
“Both couples danced remarkably well, but I would also have saved Shayne and Nancy,” she said on last night’s results show.
Viewers unfairly claimed Shirley would always have favoured hunky actor Shayne in the dance-off.
One said: “The thing is that Shirley would have voted to keep Shayne even if he’d played musical statues.
“She’s all about the men and always has been. She shouldn’t be head judge. It’s a disgrace.”
Another added: “Shirley always has a bias towards the male contestants and she definitely has a soft spot for Shayne and Pete. Having said that, Punam was in trouble for a couple of weeks.”
Someone else mentioned the late judge Len Goodman, saying: “Len never favoured anyone and Anton just agrees with her on everything she’s got a lot of power, Darcy is missed she left very quickly after her! I think the judges need a shake up and given walnuts and goodbye.”
It’s not the first time Shirley has been accused of sexism while on Strictly Come Dancing.
In fact she’s been the subject of many cruel social media attacks.
Strictly 2024 pairings
Here’s who is matched with who this series…
However, defending herself against claims of bias, Shirley previously told The Sun: “I’m not the one who puts them there [in the dance off].
“People have to understand that every week somebody has to go home.”

Dr Phil endorses Trump for president at Madison Square Garden rally
Phil McGraw, better known as popular television personality Dr Phil, has officially endorsed Donald Trump for president.
McGraw, who rose to fame in the 1990s thanks to his appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, interviewed the former president earlier this year on his own show and promised to “ask [Trump] some hard questions and get some clear answers.”
The 74-year-old, who lost his licence to practice psychology in 2006, appeared on stage at Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City and backed the Republican just days before the historic election.
Speaking to the crowd of Trump supporters, McGraw said that he was “not here just to stand up for Donald J Trump. Lord knows he doesn’t need me to stand up for him. He’s tough as an old army boot. He’s got lots of enemies, different groups that are scared, and between them, they have impeached him, indicted him, raided him, railroaded him, shot him and sued him. And where is he? He is still standing.”
McGraw said that he doesn’t “ like or agree with everything that Donald J. Trump does or says” but that “no human is perfect” and that rather than striving for “perfection,” we strive for “excellence”.
He used much of his speech to defend Trump supporters who he claimed are being “cancelled, intimidated, marginalised, excluded or even fired or boycotted” and then used his professional opinion to declare that Trump isn’t a “bully”.
He said that Trump couldn’t be a bully because “there has to be an imbalance of power, and when there’s not, it’s just called a debate, and he’s just better at it than anybody else”.
McGraw also attacked the likes of Beyonce, George Clooney, Robert De Niro and Lizzo, who he claimed hadn’t received any backlash from the media for endorsing Kamala Harris but said “watch what happens tomorrow morning when people find out I came here to talk to you”.
He also spread a conspiracy theory that CBS News show 60 Minutes edited their interview with Harris, which Trump had previously spread.

Responding to the accusations, CBS News said that the claims were “false” and that: “60 Minutes gave an excerpt of our interview to Face the Nation that used a longer section of her answer than that on 60 Minutes. Same question. Same answer.”
The statement continued: “But a different portion of the response. When we edit any interview, whether a politician, an athlete, or movie star, we strive to be clear, accurate and on point. The portion of her answer on 60 Minutes was more succinct, which allows time for other subjects in a wide ranging 21-minute-long segment.”
