I mean yeah it does look like a cheap power supply, but this really looks like what happens when you forget to check that little red voltage switch and make sure it's not set on 120V in a country that has 240V mains. That amount of smoke looks like the main filter caps got fried, and it was almost instant, like their voltage rating was exceeded. Setting the switch to 240V avoids this problem as this puts the main caps into a series circuit instead of parallel, effectively doubling their voltage rating. You checked the switch right? I'm just sayin….
Regardless of what happened, it was fun to watch. 🙂

Thats its what happen if the main power swutch is stabding on 120volts and you plugg it in on 220volts lol check abd you will see it stand on 120volts on the power supply.

And would you consider hocking some random power supply and turning it on? It would be interesting to see whats on it, if some kind of Windows Server or just an XP/2000? It would be a pretty interesting and fun video. It would also be fun to get a 1Gbit network card in it and see what kind of speeds there would be with all of those ancient limiting components 😀

120 volts on power supply when using 220 v electrical power is bad idea.
