Wetherby Market Place cordoned off with air ambulance

Wetherby Market Place is currently closed to the public with a number of emergency service vehicles – including police, paramedics, ambulance, and air ambulance – are at the scene.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said the incident was a crash involving a car and a pedestrian, with the Ambulance Service confirming this.

“We received a call at 12.39 today to reports of a road traffic collision outside Boots Opiticians, Wetherby Market Place, involving a car and pedestrian.

“We dispatched an ambulance, critical care paramedic and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to the scene. One patient was taken by land ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary,” said a spokesperson for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
