Man Utd Could Move for PSG Star Bradley Barcola
Manchester United may not be dwelling on Antoine Semenyo for too long with another blockbuster deal potentially up their sleeve.
The Red Devils were informed on Wednesday evening that the Bournemouth star would prefer to join rivals Manchester City with Pep Guardiola’s side his number one destination.
Semenyo has a £65million release clause in his contract that can be triggered between January 1st and January 10th, however it now appears that Old Trafford will not be his destination.
Unwilling to break their wage structure to sign Semenyo, Man United could now look for an even better superstar who may be on the move.
Bradley Barcola Weighing Up His Options
Manchester United could mount an approach to sign Bradley Barcola, according to reports from Caught Offside. The Paris Saint-Germain star’s long-term future is in doubt due to intense competition for places under Luis Enrique.
While starting every game in the Champions League for PSG, he has started just nine of 16 games in Ligue 1. He’s also only completed the full 90 minutes on just three occasions this term.
Should he decide to move, the Red Devils could be tempted to offer him an escape route, while Liverpool are also said to be keen.
PSG, however, may need convincing with Barcola one of Enrique’s most reliable attacking stars.
Barcola Would Be Blockbuster for Man United
Antoine Semenyo would have been an excellent addition for Manchester United, but Bradley Barcola would be something else entirely.
Described as ‘one of the best wingers in the world’, Barcola has been a superstar in the making since progressing through Lyon’s youth setup and racking up 19 goal contributions in 47 games.
Joining PSG for £39million in 2023, he quickly picked up where he left off in Lyon. In 124 games so far, he has scored 31 goals and provided 34 assists, many of which have come as a result of playing off the left flank.
Renowned for his pace, trickery and final ball, Barcola is someone who would get supporters very excited at Old Trafford. If a deal could be done, he could prove to be a very popular signing indeed.
Of course PSG will need convincing to sell him and a deal could be very costly, but given that he’s 23 and putting in some top-tier performance, it a signing which would surely pay off for Man United if they did manage to get it done.
