The Princess of Wales and her daughter, Charlotte, captivated fans by sharing a touching moment together at the royal carol service. The concert was recorded in early December but broadcast on ITV on Christmas Eve.

Kicking off the concert, Catherine and Charlotte performed a duet on the piano. As the Princess’s voiceover discussed the significance of Christmas, a pre-recorded duet with her daughter played.

The mother-daughter duo performed Holm Sound, a 2020 composition by Erland Cooper. The piece was dedicated to the composer’s mother, Charlotte.

Cooper, originally from the Orkney Islands, creates music inspired by nature and connection, themes that ITV reports are deeply significant to The Princess of Wales.

“Omg! It’s The Princess of Wales and Princess Charlotte on the piano!” one fan posted online. Another chimed in: “Aaaw, a mother daughter duet from the Princess of Wales and Princess Charlotte. How lovely.”

A third commented: “The Princess of Wales and Princess Charlotte! So beautiful.”

Another added: “Princess Charlotte and our beautiful Princess of Wales playing piano together. What a beautiful vision and spoken words – Together at Christmas. Wow.”

One particularly moved fan praised Catherine’s speech: “What a gorgeous opening, well spoken and incredibly thoughtful. 1st speech I’ve wanted to listen to this festive season. Found myself quite tearful.”

The royal family hinted at a musical moment between Kate and Charlotte prior to the concert, reports the Mirror. They shared a teaser of Kate at the piano on Instagram, captioned: “A special duet…” This sparked excitement among fans, many of whom recalled when the princess joined Tom Walker on the piano in 2021.

The Princess has been playing the piano since her childhood. Her second public performance was in 2023 during a segment of the Eurovision Song Contest’s opening sequence.

She has passed on her passion for the piano to her daughter. During the concert, fans also noted how delightful it was to see Kate and Prince William’s entire family together. One fan commented: “Beautiful images of the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three gorgeous children. What a wonderful example of family unity and love.”

William and Kate have two sons in addition to Charlotte. George is their eldest, while Louis is their youngest.

The younger son is known for his knack for stealing the spotlight at major events with his outgoing and often humorous nature.

In 2023, Louis brought smiles to many faces by adding a touch of humour to the service. During one song, he leaned over and blew out his sister’s candle, leaving Charlotte and many fans chuckling at his antics.
