Carlos Alcaraz has given the role of Santa Claus a go with his fellow tennis stars

Carlos Alcaraz couldn’t resist a cheeky jab at rival Jannik Sinner’s pale skin when considering what Christmas presents he’d get for his tennis rivals. The Spaniard has enjoyed a brilliant 2025 campaign, winning both the French and US Open crowns and finishing the year as the world No. 1 in men’s singles.

Sinner won the remaining two Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Meanwhile, Alcaraz had a playful dig ready for the Italian when quizzed about potential festive gifts.

Taking aim at Sinner’s pale skin tone, Alcaraz told tennis.com: “I would give Sinner a pair of ski boots and sunscreen for his skin.”

The 22-year-old didn’t stop there with his gift ideas. Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic also featured on his hypothetical shopping list.

The Spaniard will likely focus on his tennis rather than present-buying as he gears up for another major season in 2026. However, he’ll be tackling the new year without a familiar presence courtside.

Alcaraz has split from long-serving coach Juan Carlos Ferrero in a decision that’s sent shockwaves through the tennis community. The young star hasn’t revealed the reasons behind the separation but paid tribute to Ferrero in a heartfelt statement.

Alcaraz expressed his gratitude as he said: “Thank you for turning childhood dreams into realities. We started this journey when I was barely a kid, and throughout all this time you’ve accompanied me on an incredible journey, on and off the court.

“I’ve enjoyed every step of it so much with you.”
