The British boxing star faces a tough challenge in Jordan Flynn next month in Manchester, but has brutally vowed to destroy his bitter rival

Aqib Fiaz wants to beat Jordan Flynn so badly that he ends up ultimately crossing over to the world of Misfits.

The two rivals are set to clash in a huge grudge match over in Manchester on January 24 on the Moses Itauma vs Jermaine Franklin undercard. Both men are set to kick off the card – with fireworks guaranteed at the Co-Op Arena.

Fiaz, 26, has been building himself back up following his first professional career defeat to Reece Bellotti. After over a year away from the ring, the Oldham native returned back in February and got back in the win column with a scintillating third-round knockout of Lydon Chircop.

He returned five months later, taking on fellow countryman Alex Murphy – who was stepping up on short notice. After an epic back-and-forth contest, Fiaz edged a tight decision win in Manchester. The 26-year-old now faces a major step-up in competition in the form of Flynn.

There appears to be no love lost between the pair, having engaged in a verbal war following Fiaz’s close mate, Cameron Vuong, winning over Flynn earlier this year. Now that their domestic dust-up has been made official, the Oldham scrapper wants to truly show that he’s levels above his bitter rival.

During an exclusive chat with Mirror Fighting, the 26-year-old has promised to send Flynn to Misfits Boxing following the conclusion of their upcoming lightweight fight. “He’s talked the big game. To be honest, I expected it. In fact, I expected more to be honest. Listen, he is an idiot. I would like to see him in Misfits Boxing or something like that because he is more suited to that,” he said.

Fiaz added: “I am going to beat him up. There is no way he beats me. I am going to outbox him and out fight him. I cannot see him doing anything that troubles me. I am preparing well. I am training hard and I am preparing for the best Jordan… that is important. I am not underestimating him, but I reckon I am truly levels above him and I should show that I am levels above him. He is a good fighter, but so am I. I believe I can box at range with him. I believe I can out fight him and I will have an answer for whatever he brings.”

While the Brit is not looking past his upcoming adversary, he is hoping for a big and active 2026 in the ring. One thing is for certain, though, he has no intentions of running it back with Murphy. His name has been floated around these past few months, amid talks of a potential rematch, but the 26-year-old insists he will be looking for tougher challenges after Flynn.

“Alex Murphy wanted that fight again, but it didn’t make sense for me. It’s a fight like I said last time, I took it on five days’ notice. And, to be quite honest with you I was not 100 per cent going into that fight, but I got the win in my opinion and most people’s opinions in boxing. And people in boxing and know it thought I won pretty convincing although it was close. Maybe 6-4, 7-3 to me but I showed that my experience at the top level. I have put it behind me and I am now looking forward to bigger and better things.”
