Grand Mosque offers free tahallul service to ease pilgrim journeys
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has introduced a free tahallul (ritual hair cutting) service at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the experience of pilgrims and visitors.
The authority said the service is provided through dedicated, fully equipped mobile units operating in the mosque’s courtyards and supervised by trained personnel. It is delivered in line with strict health and safety standards, ensuring an organised and reassuring experience for worshippers completing their rites.
The initiative forms part of an integrated on-site service system aimed at improving crowd flow, particularly during peak periods, while catering to the needs of older people and persons with disabilities. By offering tahallul services within the Grand Mosque precincts, the authority aims to reduce congestion and make ritual completion easier and more accessible.
The authority reaffirmed its commitment to continuously upgrading services at the Two Holy Mosques, in line with the leadership’s vision of providing a safe, healthy and comfortable environment that allows pilgrims and worshippers to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind.
