Darby Allin is know as one of wrestling’s true daredevils, and it seems to run in the family.

The All Elite Wrestling star has put his life and body on the line countless times over the years, from jumping over his house in a jeep to diving off a 92 foot waterfall.

Over the festive period, AEW’s 32-year-old thrill seeker put his brother centre stage for a proposal of the century.

In a video on Instagram, Darby can be seen literally lighting his brother on fire before his sibling gets down on one knee, pulls out a ring for his partner and asks her to marry him.

Instead of embracing his burning passion, the woman can be seen laughing and quickly handing a fire extinguisher to Darby and running out of frame.

The stuntman and wrestling star had to step in, while his brother was rolling around on the ground to put out the flames. ‘MARRIAGE PROPOSAL GONE WRONG,’ he captioned the video.

‘My brother wanted me to light him on fire and he asked his girlfriend to marry him. she got cold feet and took off running instead of putting him out with the fire extinguisher.’

Darby joked: ‘Maybe it wasn’t to be…..’

The former TNT Champion, who once got thrown down a half pipe in a body bag, previously revealed the most painful injury he’s ever suffered.

Speaking in 2024, he exclusively told Metro: ‘When I got a really bad concussion in 2017, I think that’s the most pain, because it’s so mental.

‘I would rather break anything than have your brain be messed up. I was wrestling on an independent show in 2017 and they had no pads around the ring at all.

‘And I do this dive, and my head just smashes in the concrete, and I start, like, convulsing on the ground for probably four seconds, and then I finished the match.

‘The finish of the match is a top rope Power Bomb. Like, my head is killing me. And I go to the hospital, and they’re getting bleeding from the brain. So I had to be put under and stuff like that. And it was gnarly. Man, that was insane.’

Earlier this year, Darby took time out of his AEW career to climb Mount Everest, having been forced to delay his original attempt after breaking his foot and then getting hit by a bus weeks later.

Before the initial stalled attempt, he insisted he was primed and ready for the tough task.

‘first thing that the trainer told me when I met up with him for Everest was, “Are you afraid to die?” I’m like, “No,”’ he told Metro.

‘He’s like, “That’s the only mindset you have to have. Because if you’re worried about X, Y, and Z, get out right now.” And I’m just like, “Whatever happens, happens, you know?”

‘Because I’ve lived more in the last year than people have in their whole lives. So I’ve got nothing – you know what I mean? I’ve done so much already that I never thought was possible.’
