Special Christmas party for Flockton Court in Horwich
Flockton Court, a sheltered housing scheme for older residents in Horwich, hosted a lively Christmas party thanks to a donation from housebuilder Northstone, enabling residents to enjoy a memorable afternoon of food, entertainment and festive fun.
Residents, families, and staff gathered for an afternoon of food and fun, enjoying a three-course meal, drinks, live entertainment, and dancing.
Jean Torkington, who has lived at Flockton Court for 19 years, said: “It was such a lovely party and really made our Christmas feel special.
“The food was wonderful, the music was fantastic, and we all had such a good time dancing.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to Chrissie and Kara from Northstone for joining us to celebrate and Northstone for their kindness and generosity with the donation, it meant so much to all of us.
“The team also made sure that those residents who were unwell or unable to attend the party were still able to enjoy the festivities, with the same meal served to them in their rooms so nobody missed out and I know that was very much appreciated.”
Guests dressed in their finest Christmas jumpers and sparkle, while singer Matt Jackson from Creeme Entertainment provided live vocals and kept spirits high throughout the event.
The celebration was made possible through Northstone’s Community Fund, an initiative that supports organisations and projects in the areas where the homebuilder operates.
Flockton Court was one of three successful applicants to receive funding.
Chrissie Bramhall-England, communities manager at Northstone, said: “Our Community Fund is all about making a positive difference locally and we’re delighted that our donation helped Flockton Court host such a special Christmas celebration.
“I really enjoyed spending time and even having a dance with the residents who really got into the festive spirit for the party.
“Seeing how much the residents enjoyed the day makes it incredibly worthwhile.”
The event created lasting memories for residents.
