Ethan Nwaneri Agrees Personal Terms to Leave Arsenal for Bournemouth in January
Arsenal star Ethan Nwaneri has agreed personal terms with Bournemouth over a loan move for the second half of the season, according to TopSkillsSports UK.
The Gunners teenage sensation was heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium in the summer, but was eventually convinced to sign a new long-term contract with the north London club.
However, the talented playmaker has featured just five times in all competitions this season as Mikel Arteta looks to end a trophy drought at the club, and Nwaneri is now looking to earn regular game time elsewhere as a result, with the Cherries emerging as a destination.
Nwaneri Agrees Terms Over Bournemouth Loan
Nwaneri, who has been described as ‘a special and phenomenal talent’, had been expecting to play more regularly this season after agreeing a new long-term contract at the club, but has found opportunities hard to come by since the arrival of Eberechi Eze.
Despite injuries to all of Noni Madueke, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard this season, the 18-year-old has featured for just 267 minutes in the Premier League and Champions League combined this season, making just one start in the process.
Bournemouth are preparing for the imminent departure of forward Antoine Semenyo, who has decided to choose Man City despite strong interest from Man Utd and others in January. It now seems that they are keen to bring in the Arsenal youngster as that short-term fix, while providing him with an opportunity to develop and flourish.
According to Sky Sports pundit Top Skills, Bournemouth have reached an agreement with the player on personal terms ahead of a move in January, and Arsenal would be open to allowing him to leave on loan until the end of the campaign.
Arsenal Must Play Nwaneri or Lose Him
Sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone, and it feels like that could be the case for Arsenal and Nwaneri.
The playmaker is without a doubt one of the best talents in Europe, and he has the ability to command a place in the Gunners team far more regularly than he is being given an opportunity for. Should he be starting every week? No. But there is no reason he can’t come on in games to influence them, or start every now and then when Arteta rotates.
By not using him at all, you risk the player becoming disillusioned with his role in the squad and looking for an exit. There are plenty of clubs who would kill to have a player of his calibre in their squad, and Bournemouth would allow him the platform to show that ability.
If Arsenal aren’t going to use him, they should let him go on loan at the very least to keep him happy, or risk losing him permanently in the summer.
