Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber missed the Premier League clash against Brighton due to injury but attended the match and shared his delight on social media
Arsenal suffered an injury setback before their Premier League clash with Brighton on Saturday. Full-back Jurrien Timber was omitted from the squad after picking up a knock during the closing stages of the Carabao Cup victory over Crystal Palace just days earlier.
His absence meant Declan Rice had to step in at full-back. Despite the injury setback, Timber has remained engaged on social media both before and after the fixture. On Saturday morning, he posted bible verse Romans 12:2 on his X account.
During the match, cameras captured Timber watching from the stands at the Emirates Stadium. Following the final whistle, the defender shared Arsenal’s result graphic on his own social media, clearly thrilled with the victory his teammates secured, reports football.london.
Timber’s unavailability for the game means he has now broken his ever-present record for this campaign. Before kick-off, Mikel Arteta disclosed that Timber had sustained the problem against Palace.

“We missed him because in the last part of the game he felt something and he could not carry on so he’s out,” he said.
Arteta also provided another update after Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Brighton, with the Gunners boss stating: “With Jurrien, he landed awkwardly.”
Arsenal received another injury concern during the pre-match warm-up as Riccardo Calafiori was forced to withdraw from the starting line-up. He was replaced in the starting XI by Myles Lewis-Skelly, with Rice then moving to right-back.
In his post-match press conference, Arteta disclosed: “It’s something that he felt yesterday, something very awkward that happened, and today in the warm-up he wasn’t comfortable.”
Despite the injury setbacks, a goal from Martin Odegaard and a Georginio Rutter own goal saw Arsenal secure all three points and reclaim their spot at the top of the Premier League table.
Brighton did manage to reduce the deficit with a goal from Diego Gomez, setting up a nail-biting finish.
The duration of Timber and Calafiori’s injuries remains uncertain. It’s a swift turnaround for the Gunners, who are back in action at the Emirates Stadium in what could be a pivotal match against third-placed Aston Villa on Tuesday night (8.15pm kick-off).
Villa currently lie on 39 points, five adrift of Arsenal in the league table. They notched up their 11th consecutive win with a 2-1 triumph over Chelsea on Saturday evening.
