New Year’s Eve is a chance to spend time with friends and family and to look back over the last year. If you are looking to welcome in 2026 with a bang but want to avoid cleaning up your whole house on New Year’s Day, you could go out somewhere in Cambridgeshire.
Restaurants and venues across the county are hosting their own events to celebrate the new year. Whether you want to do something different for New Year’s Eve or just want to enjoy a meal and watch some fireworks with your family, you should be able to find something to do in Cambridgeshire.
Here are a few of the events and places you can celebrate New Year’s Eve around the county. You can find out what is on and how to book ahead of the big day below.
The Old Bridge
Location: 1 High St, Huntingdon PE29 3TQ
The Old Bridge is holding its “most popular event of the year” to welcome in 2026. The night will start from 6.45pm with a glass of champagne for guests to enjoy before heading to the black-tie dinner at 7.15pm.
At midnight, you will be led outside by a Scottish piper to watch fireworks over the River Great Ouse, which will be followed by dancing until 1.30am. The whole evening costs £175 per person and can be booked on the Old Bridge’s website.
The Tivoli
Location: 16 Chesterton Rd, Cambridge CB4 3AX
The Tivoli is running a “dazzling” Casino Party for New Year’s Eve with Blackjack tables and Roulette wheels. The event will also feature a live DJ, canapés to keep you going through the night, and the chance to try out some mini golf.
Tickets start from just £10, which gives you entry to the party and a free glass of prosecco, or you can upgrade to the £25 ticket, which gets you £20 in casino chips and half a bottle of prosecco per person. If you arrive before 9.30pm, you’ll get an extra free glass of prosecco.
Parker’s Tavern
Location: 52-42 Regent St, Cambridge CB2 1AD
The New Year’s Gala Dinner & Party at the Parker’s Tavern will start with a “sparkling reception” involving “bubble and handcrafted canapés”. The reception will be followed by a five-course dinner that has been “specially curated for the occasion”.
If you already have plans for dinner, you can join the celebrations at the later time of 11pm and just enjoy the live music from The G and The Lizards in the Ballroom, which costs £65 per person. The full evening meal and access to the Ballroom costs £195 per person.
SIX at The Varsity Hotel
Location: 24 Thompsons Ln, Cambridge CB5 8EQ
If you just want to enjoy a meal to welcome in the new year, then you could try out SIX at The Varsity Hotel. The restaurant will be offering guests a three course set menu with a few dishes to choose from alongside a free glass of champagne or rosé prosecco to start the night off.
The restaurant has views of the city so you might be able to spot some fireworks going off at midnight while enjoying a drink. The evening costs £125 per person and can be booked on The Varsity Hotel’s website.
