Man Utd Lead Race to Sign Hoffenheim Winger Bazoumana Toure
Manchester United are continuing to scan the European market for emerging attacking talent, with recruitment staff placing increased emphasis on players who combine athleticism with tactical intelligence.
As part of that process, sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside that United are among several Premier League clubs to have begun background checks on Bazoumana Toure, a teenage winger currently impressing in the Bundesliga. While no move is imminent, United’s interest reflects longer-term planning as the club looks to evolve its attacking options under Ruben Amorim.
Toure only joined TSG Hoffenheim recently, but his adaptation to top-flight German football has been rapid. Still just 19, the Ivorian has already established himself as a regular contributor, with his performances drawing attention from multiple English clubs.
Why Toure is now on United’s radar
United’s interest is rooted in Toure’s suitability for high-tempo, transition-heavy systems. Scouts have been impressed by his fearless approach in one-v-one situations, his willingness to attack space aggressively and his growing maturity in the final third.
In 16 appearances this season, Toure has contributed two goals and five assists, but those numbers only partially reflect his overall influence. His ability to stretch defences vertically and carry the ball at speed has stood out during internal assessments, particularly in matches where Hoffenheim look to break quickly.
Premier League sides value wide players who can threaten without dominating possession, and Toure’s directness has made him a natural fit for that profile. United view him as a developmental option rather than a finished product – a player whose ceiling could rise significantly with the right coaching environment.
Bundesliga pace and Hoffenheim’s firm stance
One of the key data points driving interest is Toure’s physical output. Last season, both Union Berlin’s Oliver Burke and Hoffenheim’s Toure ranked among the Bundesliga’s top 10 fastest players, and the pair have continued to set the pace for sprint speeds this campaign too.
Toure’s acceleration and top-end speed are now placing him among the league’s quickest attackers, a metric Premier League recruitment teams track closely when assessing wide forwards. Crucially, his pace is functional – used to create separation, attack channels and disrupt defensive shapes rather than simply rack up numbers.
Interestingly, his top recorded speed of 22.36mph is only marginally slower than United forward Bryan Mbeumo’s own 22.58mph record this term.
Despite growing interest, Hoffenheim are not expected to sanction a January sale. Reports of bids around €35 million have circulated, but the Bundesliga side are believed to value the ‘explosive’ winger closer to €44-45 million, underpinned by a long-term contract.
International ambition could yet influence the timeline. Toure is pushing for inclusion in Ivory Coast’s World Cup plans, and any senior involvement would further elevate his profile. For now, United’s approach remains one of monitoring – but Toure is firmly a name to watch as future windows approach.
Man Utd Confident of Signing ‘One of the Best Wingers in the World’ as ‘Priority’
Manchester United are reportedly confident of signing Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola in the January transfer window.
