Oman cracks down on fake professional certificates

Oman’s Ministry of Labour has warned against the use of forged professional classification certificates and practice licences after detecting several cases of document falsification in recent weeks.

In a statement, the ministry said the use of fake professional credentials represents a clear violation of the laws and regulations in force in the Sultanate, stressing that legal action will be taken against those involved.

The warning comes as part of ongoing efforts to protect the integrity of Oman’s labour market and ensure that professional qualifications and licences are issued and used in accordance with approved regulatory frameworks.

The ministry urged employers and individuals to verify professional certificates and practice licences through official channels, noting that compliance with classification and licensing requirements is essential to maintaining trust, safety and professionalism across all sectors.

Authorities reaffirmed that any attempts to bypass professional classification systems through falsification or fraud will be dealt with firmly in line with applicable laws.
