Saudi Arabia opens Six Flags Qiddiya City
The official opening ceremony of Six Flags Qiddiya City was held on Monday evening under the patronage of Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region, marking the launch of the first attraction within Qiddiya’s entertainment ecosystem.
The new theme park features a portfolio of world-class rides and immersive experiences supported by advanced technologies, all designed to link entertainment with place and identity.
Its opening underscores the rapid progress Saudi Arabia is making in developing its leisure and tourism sectors as part of Vision 2030.
Speaking at the ceremony, Abdullah AlDawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, thanked Prince Faisal for his patronage and support, describing the launch as a practical embodiment of Qiddiya’s vision. “We are building a destination that inspires imagination, ignites excitement, and brings people together through exceptional experiences,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials and dignitaries, including Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, Mayor of the Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, and a number of ministers and senior government officials.
Six Flags Qiddiya is the first major attraction to open at Qiddiya, a flagship giga-project aimed at positioning the Kingdom as a global destination for entertainment, culture and sport.
