Manchester United have been urged to appoint another Premier League manager after their ’embarrassing’ 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night.

United’s 1-0 win against Newcastle United on Boxing Day lifted them back into top four contention ahead of the visit of rock-bottom Wolves to Old Trafford.

Rob Edwards’ men arrived in Manchester with two points from 18 top flight matches this term, yet they picked up another rare one as Joshua Zirkzee’s opener was cancelled out by Ladislav Krejci’s leveller in the first half.

The performance and result isn’t a good look for Ruben Amorim, who decided to revert to his five-at-the-back system at home against one of the worst teams in Premier League history, with his Manchester United side booed off at the full-time whistle.

Now, the Red Devils have been told to go and hire a manager who looks set to be on the move in the summer, at the latest.

If results like the one against Wolves continue to happen for Amorim, who has had more than a year in charge at Old Trafford now, then United chiefs will surely have no option but to sack the Portuguese.

Journalist Christopher Michel has gone a step further by telling the Red Devils hierarchy via his X account who they should go and get to replace the 40-year-old – Oliver Glasner.

According to GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano, the Austrian manager is set to depart Crystal Palace after deciding not to renew his contract that expires at the end of this season.

After the ’embarrassing’ draw with Championship-bound Wolves, Michel says United need to get Glasner and says he can see the 51-year-old in the dugout at Old Trafford.

Palace have hit a sticky run of form in recent weeks with three straight Premier League defeats, but they still lie only four points adrift of United with a game in hand.

Glasner has done an amazing job at Selhurst Park, especially in 2025 as he delivered the club’s first ever major trophy as Palace beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final, before they also saw off Liverpool to lift the Community Shield.

The likes of Maxence Lacroix and Daniel Munoz have come in and become top Premier League players under the Austrian’s guidance, while Eberechi Eze reached a new level before his summer departure to Arsenal.

Most impressively of all though, and something that will appeal to United fans, is Glasner’s flexibility from a tactical point of view.

The ‘world-class’ 51-year-old is willing to change his style of play and tactics both pre-game and during the game, which has yielded some amazing results for the South London outfit.

Michel is right, Glasner is a great option to be United’s next manager. The next question is whether they make their move before he becomes a free agent in the summer.
