New Legal and Judicial Journal highlights key fatwas and court guidance in Qatar
Qatar’s Ministry of Justice has released a new issue of its Legal and Judicial Journal, featuring in-depth legal research, comparative studies, and analysis of rulings and fatwas issued by the Court of Cassation.
Published by the Ministry’s Legal and Judicial Studies Centre, the latest edition places particular emphasis on fatwas addressing disputes between government entities and employees, offering practical guidance on workplace-related legal issues.
Director of the Centre for Legal and Judicial Studies, Dr Abdullah Hamad Al Khaldi, said the new issue builds on previous editions by expanding its scope and aligning content with academic and scientific best practices. He noted that the journal combines legal research and commentary within a unified framework to better serve legal professionals and researchers.
The publication covers a wide range of topics, including environmental protection laws, cyber extortion, political offences, legal assistance for low-income individuals, treasury management agreements, and the protection of personal liberty. It also examines cases related to conflicts of interest in public tenders and retirement entitlements for public employees upon reappointment.
Dr Al Khaldi said the journal aims to enrich Qatar’s legal libraries and strengthen legal awareness across society, supporting the country’s development goals under Qatar National Vision 2030.
