Everyone at Football Italia would like to extend our best wishes to readers across the globe for a Happy New Year!

It’s been a thrilling year for Italian football, and the months ahead promise even more excitement with the 2026 World Cup and another dramatic race for the title in Serie A.

January will see the Champions League and Europa League league phases wrapped up with two final matchdays, alongside the opening of the winter transfer window, which officially gets underway on January 2, 2026.

On that same day, we’ll have the first Serie A match of the year with Milan visiting Cagliari at 20:45 CET. A game that, naturally, we’ll follow via our live blog.
