There were a range of dangerous criminals jailed in 2025.

It has been another busy year for Cambridgeshire Police with many criminals sent to prison. Criminals have been sentenced for all sorts of crimes, ranging from murder to drug dealing.

As we come to the end of 2025, here are some notable criminals sent to prison across the last 12 months.

January

Brandon Oakley

Brandon Oakley, 24, of no fixed address stabbed his friend in the chest with a kitchen knife after they got into a row. He fled a flat in Central Avenue, Dogsthorpe, where he carried out the attack.

He was sentenced to 12 years and three months in prison, after appearing at Cambridge Crown Court on January 28. He was sentenced for causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and being in possession of a knife in a public place.

Ricky Lee, 65, was sentenced to over 30 years in prison after appearing at Cambridge Crown Court on January 24.

He received 25 years for rape and six years for sexual assault. Lee, who was a handyman, used his job to gain access to vulnerable women.

He raped one victim twice within hours of being placed at a property by a local authority in 2022. He also sexually harassed and assaulted others at the guesthouse, which accommodated vulnerable people, some of whom had drug and alcohol addictions.

When he appeared in court, he denied two charges of rape and four of sexual assault, but he was found guilty for all charges.

Levi Baxter

Levi Baxter, 21, of Cunningham Close, Arbury, was sentenced to four years and six months in prison after appearing in court on January 14. He pleaded guilty to causing death by driving whilst disqualified.

Baxter crashed into a tree on the passenger side and left his 19-year-old passenger Ben Bland with serious injuries. Ben sadly later died in hospital two days later.

Baxter initially told police he was the passenger.

February

David Newton

David Newton, 70, was jailed for life after he was found guilty of killing 86-year-old widow Una Crown in Wisbech in January 2013. At the time, Una was found by her nephew with a cut throat, stab wounds in her chest and her clothing set on fire.

Newton, a former kitchen installer, was questioned by police 12 years ago. He was then charged in 2024 after scientists found his DNA on Mrs Crown’s hand, which were not available in 2013.

Charlie Martinson

Charlie Martinson was put behind bars in February after he started a large fire at a vehicle recovery site in Howard Road, Eaton Socon on February 24, 2023. As a result, he caused more than £1.8 million of damage.

CCTV and doorbell showed Martinson’s involvement, as well as two other men who broke in.

Robert Norman

Robert Norman was arrested by police at his home in Whittlesey in January 2023. Police received information that he had downloaded indecent images of children.

It was revealed Norman had made more than 1,700 indecent images of children and was jailed for 10 years.

March

Kyle Clifford

Kyle Clifford was given a whole-life order on March 11, after he was convicted of raping and murdering his ex-girlfriend Louise Hunt. Clifford also killed her mother Carol Hunt and Louise’s sister Hannah Hunt at their home in Bushey, Hertfordshire.

Carol was the wife of BBC racing commentator John Hunt. Hannah and Louise were also his two daughters.

In court, Clifford was described as a “jealous man soaked in self pity, who holds women in utter contempt”.

Inam Qureshi

Inam Qureshi was sent to prison for six-and-a-half years on March 7. Qureshi was convicted of stabbing a stranger in the head, arm and twice in leg in a random knife attack in Cambridge.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was on a morning walk when he was attacked.

Thomas Lee

Thomas Lee was sentenced to one year and 10 months in prison back in March after appearing at Peterborough Crown Court. He pleaded guilty to harassment.

He punched his ex-partner in the head, threatened to strangle her in front of her child, damaged her belongings and also took her phone without her knowledge. While on her phone, he also messaged men from her phone to tell them they were back together.

April

Warren Meadows

Warren Meadows was jailed for 32 months after appearing at Cambridge Crown Court on April 25. He admitted to threatening a person with a bladed article, two counts of assault by beating and criminal damage.

Meadows threw a knife at his ex-partner, and threatened her while holding a knife against her throat. He also attacked his ex-partner until she was left with blurred vision and bruising.

He also pushed her into a radiator, and punched a door off its hinges during an argument.

Craig Ryan

Craig Ryan from Millfield in Peterborough was found with disturbing indecent images of children online. Officers seized multiple devices and found a total of 61 images and videos which were considered category A, the most serious classification.

After appearing at Peterborough Crown Court on April 16, he was sentenced to two years and four months in prison.

Matthew Revels

Matthew Revels targeted a ‘powerless’ woman at a party on December 3, 2022. Earlier that night, Revel’s put the victim’s hand on his crotch while they were at a bar with other people.

She pulled away and told him: “I know what you want and it’s not happening.” He sexually assaulted her in a hotel bathroom, but he claimed he was going to check on her after she became unwell.

On April 24 at Huntingdon Law Courts, Revels, formerly of Armagh Road, Newry, Northern Ireland, was sentenced to two years and six months in prison after previously pleading guilty to assault by penetration.

May

Tihomir Slavov

Tihomir Slavov was jailed in May for three years and nine months. The 37-year-old, formely of Rectory Gardens, Godmanchester, punched his flatmate, before threatening him with a knife at their flat in Chestnut Close, Huntingdon.

After the attack in October 2022, the victim was left with stab wounds to his forearm, thigh and face. As well as assaulting him, Slavov stole his phone.

Slavov admitted to causing grievous bodily harm without intent, attempted robbery, burglary, criminal damage and theft from a person.

Imran Ali

Imran Ali, 40, of no fixed address, kicked his partner behind an Iceland shop in Peterborough on April 11, 2025. When he appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on May 21, he was jailed for 15 months.

He pleaded guilty to escaping from lawful custody and assault. Ali also breached the conditions of a suspended sentence.

Adam McDonnell

A taxi driver was parked in London Road, St Ives in December 2024, when Adam McDonnell came up behind him, held a knife to his throat and demanded money. Having got in the taxi, McDonnell slashed the hands of the victim as he was holding them up to protect his face.

McDonnell went onto steal £250. In a separate incident in December 2024, McDonnell hit an 85-year-old man, who was sitting on a bench in Berman Park, St Ives and stole his drone. McDonnell, 30, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 11 years in prison and an extended licence period of five years at Cambridge Crown Court on May 14.

June

Jonathon Austin

Jonathan Austin was handed a life sentence in June and ordered to serve a minimum sentence of 16 years in prison. Austin, formerly of Greengates Court, Histon Road, Cambridge, got into an argument with his flatmate and then strangled them.

After the fight, Austin called his father to tell him what had happened. He then called an ambulance and told them that his victim wasn’t breathing. When he appeared at court in April, he denied murder. However, he was found guilty.

Tanveer Chowdhury

Tanveer Chowdhury was found guilty of two counts of intentional suffocation, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and sharing a photograph or film of a person in an intimate state intending to cause alarm. He pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm (ABH) and assault by beating after attacking his partner.

He was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison, as well as being handed an indefinite restraining order, at Cambridge Crown Court in June. Chowdhury was described as having a “highly dangerous attitude towards women” and had controlled his girlfriend’s life.

During one incident, he attacked his partner for 90 minutes by throwing her to the floor, dragging her, repeatedly kicking her punching her, and prodding her with a butter knife.

Martin Roskilly

Martin Roskilly was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison after appearing at Cambridge Crown Court in June. Roskilly was also handed an indefinite restraining order after he bit off a pub worker’s finger.

When the incident took place, the 48-year-old was asked to leave the pub after he became verbally aggressive. However, he refused and the pub worker, who wasn’t on shift at the time, intervened to try and help. Roskilly pushed the pub worker and dragged him outside.

Both men hit their heads on the ground during a scuffle and then Roskilly bit the man’s right middle finger off.

July

Shwan Sabah and Ako Mohammad

Shwan Sabah, 24 and Ako Mohammad, 34, rammed Ben Procter, 19, of his bike along Wellington Street, Peterborough on September 15, 2024. The pair appeared at Cambridge Crown Court on July 11.

Sabah, of Holdich Street, Peterborough, was jailed for life, to serve a minimum of 20 years, for murder; 11 years, to run concurrently, for false imprisonment, and two-and-a-half years, to run concurrently, for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Mohammad, of Oundle Road, Peterborough, was jailed for 24 years, to serve a minimum of 16, for manslaughter; 13 years, to run concurrently, for false imprisonment; and three years, to run concurrently, for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Joshua Turner

Joshua Turner, 23, was banned from entering every Tesco, Co-op and TK Maxx in Peterborough after trying to steal from the shops. In July, he was jailed for 28 weeks.

Turner was arrested on July 19 after he was caught trying to steal from a Co-op in Werrington. He was in direct breach of a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) he was given in January 2024.

He was charged with the theft and the breach, as well as two thefts from Morrisons Daily, Bretton Centre, on July 16 and July 17, and the theft of various items from One Stop, in St Pauls Road, New England, on July 18.

August

David Marriott

David Marriott was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison in August. Marriott, 63, approached a girl from behind as she played on a slot machine in the garage of a Peterborough home in 2003.

The now 63-year-old unclasped the girls’ bra and touched her inappropriately underneath her clothes. Although he denied the offence, he was found guilty of committing an indecent assault on a girl under 16 following a trial at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court in June.

Matthew Edwards

Matthew Edwards, described as a “sexual predator”, was found guilty of three counts of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13 by touching. Edwards lived in Newmarket but was in the Uttlesford area of Essex during the time of his offending.

He was also found guilty of attempting to incite a child under 13 into sexual activity, nine counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, and taking and making indecent photographs of children. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison after appearing at Chelmsford Crown Court.

He was ordered to serve eight years in custody and the remainder be served on licence. Edwards will also remain on the sex offenders register for the rest of his life.

Alvaro Ferreira

Alvaro Ferreira, 50, was sentenced to three years and 10 months in jail, and was handed a restraining order. Ferreira threatened to put his partner in a “wheelchair for Christmas“.

He took his victim’s phone from so she couldn’t call for help, and he also controlled her finances. He had previously been convicted for actual bodily harm (ABH) and given a suspended prison sentence in April 2024.

However, he was arrested again after he hit his victim several times and threw objects at her in December 2024.

September

Nicholas Hutson

Nicholas Hutson, 40, formerly of Artindale, Bretton, Peterborough appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on September 17. He was jailed for 45 months after admitting to two counts of blackmail.

Hutson blackmailed a “frightened” resident at their own home on May 4. The 40-year-old demanded money and told the victim there was a group waiting to assault him around the corner if he didn’t hand over the money.

The victim withdrew £50, however Hutson returned later the same day and demanded more money. He threatened the victim again, but this time with a knife. The victim handed over another £50.

Jayed Hussain

Jayed Hussain, 31, of no fixed abode, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court on September 10. He admitted to several assault charges, and a charge of criminal damage which resulted in a total of over four years in prison.

Hussain attacked his partner for several months. In the early hours of June 16, he attacked the victim. He also grabbed her TV and smashed it to the floor.

Neighbours informed the police that they could hear screaming, items being smashed and also saw the victim with blood on her face. The victim, who is in her 20s, called police twice just before 2am on June 16 and Hussain was arrested.

Malcolm Ravenhill

Malcolm Ravenhill, 63, went to a Co-op in Orton Goldhay, Peterborough, on September 2 in a mobility scooter. He picked steaks worth more than £250 and hid them at the back of his scooter, before leaving the shop.

The theft came only six days after he was handed a suspended sentenced after admitting to eight counts of theft from a shop. Ravenhill appeared at Peterborough Magistrates Court on September 11 and admitted to the new count of theft, and he was jailed for a year.

October

Stephen Kerr-Morgan

Stephen Kerr-Morgan, 54, formerly of Bowness Way, Peterborough, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court on October 2. He was sentenced to two years and two months in prison after pleaded guilty to three charges of making an indecent photo of a child; possessing an extreme pornographic image; two charges of publishing an obscene article, and distributing an indecent photograph of a child.

After police officers attended Kerr-Morgan’s home in May 2023 and seized his devices, there was more than 250 indecent images and videos of children found across the devices. These included more than 150 category A images and videos – the most severe – including baby and toddler victims.

A further 52 category B images were found, as well as 49 category C images.

Mohammed Chaudry

Mohammed Chaudry, 51, appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on October 7. He was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty to robbery and inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.

Chaudry attacked a shop worker at a Premier Store in Dogsthorpe, Peterborough on July 27 when he was stealing money. He slashed the victim’s arm with a kitchen knife, which left her bleeding heavily.

Officers identified Chaudry two days later and he was arrested. He was already on life licence for a murder he committed while serving a prison sentence for another knifepoint robbery.

Lee White

Lee White, 52, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court on October 28. He was jailed for 23 months after pleaded guilty to sending communication threatening death or serious harm, harassment without violence and sending a letter/communication/article conveying an indecent/offensive message.

The 52-year-old, formerly of Granby Street, Littleport, had sent 109 emails to Labour MP Rosena Allin-Khan between August 29 and September 1, 2024. He also sent racial abuse and threats to kill Prime Minister Keir Starmer and cabinet ministers in the emails.

November

Christopher Rudd

Christopher Rudd, 34, formerly of Fenland Road, Wisbech, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after appearing at King’s Lynn Court on November 17. He was found unanimously guilty by a jury for 12 counts of raping a child, two counts of assault (ABH) and one count of causing fear of violence.

He repeatedly raped a child over an eight-year period, as well as choked, kicked and punched her. In a victim statement, the girl said she would hurt “every day” and there was “no way to stop the hurting”. The victim’s mother described Rudd as a “monster”.

Michael Bell

Shop owner Michael Bell, 68, formerly of High Street, Yelling, St Neots, appeared for trial at Peterborough Crown Court in October. He was sentenced to two years in prison at the same court on November 14 after he was found guilty of seven counts of sexual assault.

Bell sexually assaulted a shop volunteer over a four-month period. He made regular sexual marks and assaulted her several times, touching her body over her clothing. He also inappropriately touched a shop customer.

Stephan Mann

Stephan Mann, 41, formerly of Valerian Gardens, Soham appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on November 13. He was sentenced to one year and six months in prison after admitting to actual bodily harm and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour.

Mann tackled his partner to the floor, stamped on her head and threatened to kill her after accusing her of being unfaithful. Officers investigating the case said the victim feared for her life.

December

Pramod Dhakal

Pramod Dhakal, 49, was a paedophile who raped and sexually abused eight victims over a 19-year period. All of his victims were from Cambridgeshire, apart from one who was from London.

Dhakal, of Victorian Crescent, Doncaster, faced a 20-day trial at Cambridge Crown Court in September. He was sentenced to over 25 years in prison, with an extended eight years on licence after being sentenced on December 1.

He denied sexually assaulting his victims, and continued to deny the serious charges throughout his trial. However, he was found guilty on 25 counts including 15 counts of sexual assault on a girl under the age of 16, seven counts of rape of a girl under the age of 16, and three counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Victor Blowers and Alexander Blowers

Father and son Victor Blowers, 69, and Alexander Blowers, 41, raped the same child. The pair were sentenced to a combined 32 years in prison after appearing at Ipswich Crown Court in December.

When officers first arrested Victor, from Great Yarmouth, he admitted to the abuse and said he was “besotted” with the child. Following further investigations, it was discovered Victor’s son, Alexander, from Morello Place, Cambridge, had also sexually abused the child.

The abuse became known when the victim confided in a teacher about a man using his phone to take inappropriate photos of them.

The victim also recounted being driven to secluded spots by the father and son. They remembered sitting sandwiched between Victor and Alexander Blowers in the backseat of a car before the abuse took place.

Adam Bates

Adam Bates, 23, killed William Doherty, 53, from Littleport, and seriously injured his wife when his Jaguar XF veered head-on into a road sweeper vehicle. Bates appeared at Cambridge Crown Court on December 16.

He was jailed for nine years and four months after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was also banned from driving for 12 years and one month.

William was driving behind Bates on the A10 near Stretham, when the road-sweeper vehicle lost control and it crashed into his Mini Cooper.
