Luke Littler is back in action after storming to the quarter finals of the World Darts Championship
Luke Littler is back in action on New Year’s Day. The 18-year-old prodigy is looking to join an elite group of players including Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis and Gary Anderson by successfully retaining the World Darts Championship.
Littler will also have his eye on claiming the £1million prize money for winning at Ally Pally. Littler saw off Darius Labanauskas, David Davies and Mensur Suljovic in the opening three rounds without dropping a set.
He was given a stern challenge by 17th-seed Rob Cross in the fourth round but still went on to win 4-2. However, controversy ensued after the tie when a clearly irritated Littler took aim at the crowd who had booed him during the game with Cross.
Speaking on the crowd’s decision to side with Cross, Littler said: “Can I just say one thing – you guys pay for tickets and you pay for my prize money so thank you, thank you for my money, thank you for booing me! Come on!”
He later doubled down on his comments, adding: “There’s no point whistling and booing because us the players, we’re always the winner. But hopefully it’s different on New Year’s Day.” Here, we take a look at all you need to know as Littler shapes up for a quarter-final against Krzysztof Ratajski.
