The zoo has served as a historic visitor attraction and conservation leader since 1934
Belfast Zoo has kicked off 2026 with an offering for families as they wished the city a “Happy Zoo Year”.
In January, patrons will get a free child ticket with every adult ticket you buy, meaning that children will go free with an accompanying, paying adult.
The zoo is open every day this month from 10am to 4pm, with last admission at 2.30pm.

A spokesman from the zoo said: “There is plenty to see and do with over 55 acres of beautiful scenery to explore and more than 100 species to discover.
“Kids can burn off some energy by swinging their way across our large adventure playground and our animal houses close at 3.30pm. Terms and conditions apply. We recommend booking online. The offer discount will be automatically applied during purchase.”
