Royal Bolton Hospital’s first babies born in the new year
While most people sat basking in the post-Christmas glow, staff at Royal Bolton Hospital were hard at work helping new parents receive the greatest gift of all.

The hospital welcomed two new lives into their corridors this new years day – two little boys to two sets of loving parents.
The first of the two new-year’s baby boys was born at 6:30am, weighing in at 6lb 5oz, or 2863g.
The second little baby of the day was born at 11:51am weighing 4lb 15oz (Image: Bolton NHS FT)
Baby boy number two arrived just before midday at 11:51am to doting parents Mehreen and Raja, weighing only 4lb 150z, or 2240g.
Rebecca Bradley, deputy chief nursing officer, said: “It’s a real privilege for us to be able to support families in Bolton and to be part of memories they’ll treasure forever.
“Congratulations to all of our new parents and families.
“A huge thank you to all of our staff who are working through this festive period to keep our communities safe and well.”
Parents are now busy choosing names for their new arrivals.
