The North Yorkshire village with a ‘quaint’ ice cream cafe
Reeth, on the edge of the Dales near Richmond, is said to offer visitors a “true taste of rural England”.

And it’s not just the landscape – coffee, cake, and ice cream are tempting visitors to the scenic spot.
Reeth Ice Cream Parlour, located in the village, offers a sweet retreat in the heart of Swaledale and has been warmly praised by customers on Google, where it holds a 4.8-star rating.
One reviewer wrote: “Perfect quaint spot for a coffee or ice cream.
“It tasted great and came with a little cookie.
“In fact, my wife and I both thought this is the best coffee we’ve had so far along our coast to coast hike.
“Plus there’s Wi-Fi available which makes this the perfect spot to come and map out our next day’s walk.”
Another visitor described a winter visit: “Called on a very cold Feb day.
“The cafe, although small, is lovely and warm and clean.
“We were given a very friendly welcome by the lady.
“There was a decent choice of cakes – think they were home baked, which we enjoyed, and the coffee was hot and strong – just as we like it.”
The parlour is run by Peter and Sarah in a family-run setting and specialises in real dairy ice cream made by Brymor at Jervaulx.
Sixteen flavours are regularly on offer, alongside teas, hot chocolate, and freshly ground coffee.

The attraction of the Dales is complemented by the charm of Reeth Ice Cream Parlour, which offers a menu of classic and creative ice cream flavours.
Options include banana, black cherry, whim wham, chocoholic, clotted cream, espresso, and ginger.
Other selections are mint choc chip, nutty toffee, rhubarb crumble, rum and raisin, St. Clements, strawberry, vanilla, vanilla and almond toffee, white chocolate, and wild cherry.
