Spending $4,534,741 For CHROMA SWORDS In Blade Ball
What is Roblox? ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on ROBLOX is designed and constructed by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 13 to 18 year olds, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars (“Robux”). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.

built my first NAS following your TrusNAS Scale install. used a Dell desktop that was going to be put into the garbage. it's been weeks and no issues. also set up my Plex server and a samba share for back up folders. going through this NAS got me take another computer and put Proxmox on it so i could play with linux vm and containers.

keep up the great work my dude. I wonder what the depth of that chassis is (Amazon listing is weird) I just built my first home server a few weeks back using a Jonsbo N1. Its sitting on a shelf in my network rack. Thinking about building a new rack and rehoming the server… and maybe building a couple more. lol it might be an addiction
@SuprousOxide
November 3, 2024 at 9:24 am
My worst build mistake (well upgrade mistake) I was swapping out the CPU, removed the cooler and rather than unplug it just left it sitting on the motherboard. Removed the old cpu. noticed some fluff and drifted into the socket, so was going to get some air to blow it out, and heard a clunk as the cooler fell in to the socket. Tried bending pins back in place, but no luck, couldn't get it to start again.
New motherboard time! (Then new case time because the motherboard I got didn't fit in the old case….)

Thanks for another great video. Next big project is, like you setting up a rack for all the Unifi gear I've been collecting and also setting up an unRaid server. But that's actually going in a tower. A Fractal Design 7XL. You mentioned teleprompter, so I'm wondering what software you use for that. Keep up the great work.

I have real server components (minus the psu) in a fractal tower. I figure I'm server-esque. I mean it does the same thing. Once you move to a rack, it's like opening up a can of worms.

My worst build mistake was when I had my first desktop and I took off the heatsink and didn't realize I needed to reapply thermal paste (the computer was a couple years old at that point, I picked it up from a friend) and when I fired the computer back up it fired the cpu. Had to buy a whole new mobo, cpu, and ram afterwards… and all while on a high school budget so it was defeating. Been 7 years and never made a mistake that bad ever again lol

One mistake i can remember… i was tinkering with my first case i bought for myself. One day when everything was hooked up, video playing, etc… i decided to see how the back of the motherboard tray was connected and, long story short, i removed the back plate moving the motherboard away from the inside of the case, but the video card was secured to the case. All that happened was the video disappeared, but the overall computer was still fine. Freaked me out… definitely a WTF just happened moment haha.

My worst mistake? Let's see, we'll I should probably tell you that I'm an army vet, so I'm always wearing my dog tags. So on with my story. I was building a serverand got everything hooked up and I turned it on and noticed an unusual noise coming from the server, and so I started trying to see if I could tell where it was coming from. When all of a sudden my dog tags touched something that had power going to it and gave me a real intense which around the neck. So I no longer wear my dog tags while I'm working on computers, lol. It hurts.

Worst Mistake – Pulled a Pentium 4 processor out of the socket to check it out & reapply thermal paste during my first rebuild in like 2005~2006. I think I didn't pull it straight up bc a pin at the corner got bent. That pin just snapped off when I tried to straighten it. Took a $75 upgrade and added a $150 repair…

I'm still in favor of a Tower case. My backup server is in a Compaq Evo Tower with a Win 98SE activation sticker. The content is a Pentium 4 HT (1C2T; 3.0GHz); 1.5GB DDR (400MHz) and 1.21 TB in 4 HDDs (250+320GB IDE 3.5" and 2x320GB SATA-1 2.5"). The software is FreeBSD 13.1 on OpenZFS 2.1.4. The system is in use for ~2 hours/week since June 2019. The system has two cables 1Gbps Ethernet and Power.

I'm a bit late to the show but here we go. My first big mistake building a PC was just putting a 5-1/4" disk drive on the case I was working on. I thought everything was good until I turned it on and had smoke coming from the PC. Nothing got swriously fried, but it was scary and I haven't done that ever again. Ground your case and install drives correctly; even if you're just testing.

If you’re in the military, or a Veteran, never, EVER, wear your dog tags while working on desktops. It will, I know from experience, it will basically weld the toe tag chain to the neck chain, lol. And that really hurts.😢😢😢😢

November 3, 2024 at 9:24 am
Worse thing I've done. Was adding a 6… or 8 pin with what I thought was the correct cable. Nope.
Instead I fried the PS, motherboard and… my 3 drives which contained EVERYTHING
Why everything? Why did I not have a backup of it?
Well… let's just say one of them was my backup and it's replacement was in the mail
That was 20… or so years of information stored and worst of all
ALL of my families VHS tapes which I also at the time recently tossed the originals of…
Yup… luckily my siblings and parents helped pitch in some money of our beloved AFV submissions to have the platters from all 3 drives transferred to new ones by some guy in Canada…
Cost of said incorrect ~$10 cable mistake? Roughly $5k just for the drives to be fixed. And yes… yes… there are tons of videos on how to do so, some of which were from the person who actually just did the work
But… after just making a massive F' up, I figured I wasn't about to make another
Lesson learned, never use you back up equipment without a replacement already in placement

Cool vid. I never considered moving a server from a desktop case down to a 1U or even 2U case.

Every fan as intake is actually not that bad as the static pressure keeps dust out

Very interesting video. I thinking of building a firewall/router in that same case and watching someone else build in it is better than any "review."

I am planning my first Home Lab using an old PC, HP Compaq Pro 6300 sff, (why? because I just upgrades to a laptop and that is what I have. And I don't want to just store it or dump into the dumpster). I also wanted to be a real geek and have my own server rack that I can hid in a closet somewhere.
Most of the videos are either decades ahead of me with technology or price point. I am retired and on a fixed income budget, but I have budgeted $100 a month for this project. I am putting it into a Rosewill 3U chassis with 6-4T HDD and 1 SSD (For my boot drive). Upgrading the DRAM and PSU also.
I was a Submarine Electronic Technician in 1970's an 80's learned on a 3rd generation discrete component computer that controlled a gimble system for the Ships Navigation System. I have been in and out of the field over the decades. Owning an Apple II+, many PC's (286, 386, 486, Pentium). Mostly a Windows guy but have discovered the magic of Linux (being an old DOS user I am familiar with command lines, loved Word Perfect until they went GUI controlled to keep up with the Microsoft market).
Thanks for the build it gave me confidence to do it myself.
