What time is World Darts Championship final? How to watch Luke Littler vs Gian van Veen

It looks set to be an electric encounter at Alexandra Palace between the sport’s two biggest young stars, with Littler, 18, the favourite to lift the coveted Sid Waddell Trophy for the second year in a row.

The dominant Littler came through a thriller against Rob Cross despite being heavily booed by the Ally Pally crowd, having not dropped a single set in commanding opening victories over Mensur Suljovic, David Davies and Darius Labanauskas.

But he could yet face a real challenge from Van Veen, who held his nerve in a classic, high-quality contest against two-time champion Gary Anderson that was a lot closer than the final 6-3 scoreline suggests.

The 23-year-old has become the new world No3 and overtaken Michael van Gerwen as Dutch No1 after a memorable run that included a quarter-final demolition of Luke Humphries.

Van Veen has also defeated Charlie Manby, Madars Razma, Alan Soutar and Cristo Reyes, and may fancy his chances of an upset against Littler as he bids to scoop the improved £1million winners’ prize.

‘The Giant’ is the reigning two-time youth world champion and also won the senior European Championship in Germany in October, again defeating Humphries in the final.
