Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has revealed he “blanked out” during his recent fight against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.
The 58-year-old boxing legend lost the bout via unanimous decision in Dallas, landing just 18 punches throughout the eight rounds.
In a startling admission during an interview with Fox Sports Radio, Tyson confessed he can barely remember the fight.
The controversial match had already drawn widespread criticism before Tyson’s concerning revelation about his memory loss, with many figures unhappy that the contest was allowed to go ahead.
The motivation behind his comeback was deeply personal, as he wanted his children to witness him boxing, something they missed during his prime years.
“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,” Tyson reflected in his post-fight statement.
