“I have always been a faithful.” It was then that 33-year-old psychologist Ellie revealed to the camera that she’s the girlfriend of Ross, as the BBC show aired flashbacks of them “meeting” on the train in the first episode.

The remaining contestants still have no idea, but Ellie made a promise, as she said: “What I’ve got to do now is avenge his death” as he became the next person to leave the competition.

Earlier on in the series, Ross and Netty revealed they have known each other for 15 years through mutual friends, and Judy who was the first to be banished was Roxy’s mother.

There’s been a strong theory circulating that every player is connected to another somehow, and after the most recent reveal some fans couldn’t believe it.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), @alexr_241 wrote: “‘Ross is actually my boyfriend’ THE WAY I AM GASPING FOR AIR DURING THIS EPISODE” and @traylorholmes added: “What?! Ross is Ellie’s boyfriend?!”

@whatdneedstosay echoed: “I knew there was another couple!!!! I suspected Ellie and Ross on the train and when they hugged once alone in the castle”.

Now, Ellie will be one of the faithfuls desperate to find the traitors before the final. Before joining the series Ellie shared: “As a Faithful, what I’d do is bring psychological techniques into studying the other players to understand who might be a Traitor and who might be a Faithful.

“I will be looking for those tells if someone is lying and looking at baseline behaviour and seeing how it compares over time. Are people consistent? What are they telling me with their body language?

“Their micro expressions, and the way that they’re describing things? There’s lots of information that people give you that they don’t realise. I’ll be using all of that to try and guess who the Traitors are.”

Viewers were in for another treat, as it was time for the big reveal as Fiona was the secret traitor all along, As she met up in the turret with Rachel and Stephen, she said: “I’m drunk on power! I am loving my role as secret traitor, it’s so much fun.”

As she was welcomed by the pair, she added: “Oh, I love it. I’m so thrilled to actually meet my fellow traitors, and if the devil could have cast his net, he wouldn’t have had a better three.”
