Newly released footage appears to show mum-of-three Renee Good attempting to steer around agents before she is shot at three times.
A mum told an immigration agent “that’s fine, dude, I’m not mad at you” moments before she was shot at three times, a shocking new video shows.
The tape, which appeared to have been captured on an ICE officer’s own camera, shows the mum-of-three Renee Nicola Good turning her steering wheel to the right and pulling away from him before an officer opened fire in Minneapolis this week.
One bullet leaves a hole in her windscreen and the second and third going through her open side window as she passes. After her car sped off into a lamppost and parked cars, an officer appeared to be heard saying: “F****** b****”.
Campaigners claim the footage contradicts claims that the 37-year-old was intentionally trying to run the officer over, writes the Mirror.
In the new video, published by website Alpha News, a person thought to be Ms Good’s partner, is seen approaching the officer, filming him on her phone before saying: “We don’t change our plates every morning.”
They then add: “They’ll still be the same plates when you come talk to us later. That’s fine. US citizen and former f***ing veteran. Former Navy veteran, you want to come at us?”
Ms Good is then shown reversing to allow cars to pass as the person outside the car says: “I say you go get yourselves some lunch, big boy.”Other officers can then be seen approaching the car, demanding Ms Good “get out of the car… get out of the f****** car.”
The incident has caused outrage across the US, sparking a major debate on the circumstances. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and President Donald Trump have said the Minneapolis shooting was an act of self-defence, claiming Renee used her vehicle as a weapon.
Vice President JD Vance also said the shooting was justified, saying: “I can believe that her death is a tragedy while also recognising it is a tragedy of her own making.
“You have a federal law enforcement official engaging in federal law enforcement action. That guy’s protected by absolute immunity. He was doing his job.”
But Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has said video clips show the self-defence argument is “garbage” and hundreds have taken to the streets protesting since it happened on Wednesday. Demonstrators also chanted “ICE out now” in reference to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
One protester told NBC: “It’s obviously not safe here. They are attacking our neighbours. This is our community. This is America. This is Minnesota.”
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin alleged one of the “rioters” was “attempting to run over” federal officers.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem also described the incident as an “act of domestic terrorism”.
She claimed: “What had happened was our ICE officers were out in enforcement action, they got stuck in the snow because of the adverse weather that is in Minneapolis. They were attempting to push out their vehicle, and a woman attacked them and those surrounding them and attempted to run them over and ram them with her vehicle.”
Within minutes of the new footage being published, US Vice President JD Vance claimed it backed up his claim that she was deliberately trying to injure the officer when he shot her.
