Stanway confirms Bayern exit at end of the season
Georgia Stanway has confirmed that she will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the 2025-26 season.
The England international joined Bayern ahead of the 2022-23 campaign and has won three Frauen-Bundesliga titles in as many seasons with the club.
The midfielder also won the DFB-Pokal Frauen last season, while both of her European Championship successes with England also came during her time in Germany.
Stanway has made 67 appearances in the German top-flight following her move from Manchester City, scoring 21 goals and providing 17 assists.
Since her arrival in Germany, no midfielder has directly contributed to more goals (38) than Stanway in the competition, while only Svenja Huth has provided more assists (21).
“I am incredibly grateful to Bayern. Thankfully, my time here isn’t over yet,” Stanway said in a club statement.

“The decision to leave was incredibly difficult. I definitely didn’t make it lightly. I’ve made friends and memories here that will last a lifetime, and I’ve been able to develop enormously as both a player and a person.
“I will give absolutely everything for Bayern and our sporting success until the very last day – just as I have for the past three and a half years.”
With Stanway now able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a new club for the 2026-27 season, she has been tipped for a return to the Women’s Super League.
Champions League holders Arsenal, who saw head coach Renee Slegers extend her contract on Friday, are reportedly the front-runners to sign the 27-year-old.
