ITV’s purpose-built studio used to film The Masked Singer
A new series of The Masked Singer UK began on January 3, with celebrity judges Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Maya Jama, and Mo Gilligan, along with host Joel Dommett, all returning.
The ITV show features famous contestants, disguised in elaborate costumes, singing in front of the celebrity panel who must try to guess their identities.
The new characters on The Masked Singer in 2026 are:
- Moth
- Can Of Worms
- Red Panda
- Conker
- Arctic Fox
- Toastie
- Monkey Business
- Yak
- Sloth
- Gargoyle
- Disc Jockey
- Teabag
Where is The Masked Singer filmed?
The Masked Singer is filmed at ITV Studios Bovingdon, which is located near Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
ITV Studios Bovingdon was established in 2017 as a “purpose-built sound stage” and is ITV’s largest production facility in the UK.
The studio’s website adds: “This studio offers a generous sound stage, production facilities, studio backlot areas, office space and parking.”
What other ITV shows are filmed at ITV Studios Bovingdon?
Dancing on Ice was also filmed at ITV Studios Bovingdon before it was axed early last year after 17 years.
Who has been unmasked so far on The Masked Singer 2026?
Series seven of The Masked Singer UK began last weekend with two episodes, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday (January 4), meaning two celebrities were unmasked:
- Episode 1: Disc Jockey – Alex Jones (TV presenter on BBC’s The One Show)
- Episode 2: Teabag – Professor Green (Rapper and singer/songwriter)

Two other ‘special guests’ were also unmasked during last weekend’s episodes of The Masked Singer:
- Episode 1: Goldfish – Anne-Marie (Singer-songwriter)
- Episode 2: Emperor Penguin – Matt Lucas (Actor, presenter, and comedian)
However, Anne-Marie and Matt Lucas weren’t part of the show – once unmasked, they joined the judging panel.
The Masked Singer airs each Saturday on ITV1 and ITVX at 7pm.
