Liverpool lead Bradley Barcola transfer race

Liverpool are understood to be showing the strongest interest in a potential transfer move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola.

Although there have also been transfer rumours linking Barcola as a target for Arsenal and Chelsea, my current information is that Liverpool have done the most work on this potential deal.

It looks likely that Barcola will leave PSG this summer, but there have not yet been concrete talks over his next move, with a decision to come later.

We’ve been informed previously of Arsenal scouting Barcola, but their interest has not gone any further so far, while Liverpool do have a strong and serious interest in the 23-year-old as they look to rebuild their attack for life after Mohamed Salah.

LFC want Barcola as their new wide-forward to build around, with Arne Slot recognising that there is a need to add more to his front three.

Salah has had a poor season, while new signings such as Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz have been slow to settle.

Barcola looks ideal to come in and give Liverpool something different in that area of the pitch, and a deal is now even more likely as the Reds missed out on Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City.

One issue regarding Bradley Barcola transfer saga

Sources insist, however, that Barcola may yet stay at PSG, depending on what happens with the manager situation at the Parc des Princes.

“Barcola has struggled to play regularly under Luis Enrique, but he’ll be leaving in the summer, so a new manager could in theory give Barcola more of a key role,” one source said.

“Liverpool’s interest is very strong, and if his situation doesn’t improve he’ll surely be open to the move, but the manager situation is one to watch.”

It could be that Barcola will still have a future at PSG, but we’ll have to see who their next manager is and what that means for what the club do in the transfer market.

Despite struggling to play regularly under Enrique, the Spanish tactician previously described the Frenchman as “superb” and a player full of “quality”, as per Get French Football News.
