I love your tips, and your ideas for how to incorporate the trends are really wearable! But I have to tell you, as I'm literally crocheting a sweater while I watch your video, your sweaters are knit, not crocheted. Knit lace is no less pretty, of course! (And the catalog/website writers often get it wrong.) 😉

The half tuck, barrel pants and wide leg pants are perfect examples why I do not follow trends. Those clothing styles would make me feel so sloppy. I believe no matter your age, no matter your income or choice of shopping locals, no matter your style choice JUST BE YOU. Who cares what others say about you and your style? I am 67 and still wear shorts, not hot pants or cut off jeans but stylish shorts with a 3 inch or 4 inch inseam, with small heels or wedges at times. I dress for me, because anyone who doesn’t like how I am dressed can look the other way. Dress for the way it makes you feel good about being you and what you can afford. Life is too short to worry about opinions. Make yourself feel pretty and happy and walk out your door knowing you look good enough for you.

I’m no expert, but I believe there’s a difference between the “barrel” leg 🤠, “lantern” and “tapered” pant (e.g.your blk linen pants are tapered). The barrel leg is super wide in the thighs (~1,5x the normal width) and tapers at the ankle. Vs the “lantern” pants (can be even wider) which are cropped well above the ankle. 🤷🏻♀️

When I about three years old, I independently buttoned my sweater and my little sister’s. I often buttoned things uneven missing a button hole, folks would point out my mistake, my reply was “ I like it this way”. I often wish I still had the confidence of three year old me.😉

My thoughts about myself and wearing a white dress is that I’m a nurse, I’ve been a nurse for over 40 years and as a new nurse we wore an all white uniform, usually a dress, with white hose, shoes and cap. So I can’t get that out of my head when I wear something that is mostly white. I can do a white tee or button up shirt or blouse, but not a dress. I feel ready for work if I do. I’ve tried! But that’s just me.

I love your videos and very much appreciate your style advice and encouragement, Kay. I like the front tuck when it is used with a tshirt – a shirt that doesn't button all the way down. And i understand the 1/3 – 2/3 reasoning behind the front tuck. However, the half tuck is a different story. I do believe you, Kay, when you say it is trending. I don't doubt it a bit. But just because something is trending doesn't necessarily mean that it looks good or that it makes any sense to most people. I'm all about trends and enjoy seeing them on your channel, but this is one that i personally don't care for, whether it's trending or not.

The viewer who made the “Emperor’s New Clothes” comment hit the nail on the head. Leaving half of a button down shirt untucked doesn’t look stylish on anyone, including the designers’ models. Men might not know “style”, but they can have a pretty objective sense of what flatters a woman’s body.

Beautiful pieces, and they look lovely on you. That said, I see all of these, with the exception of the barrel leg pants, as typical Summer items. Nothing trendy or groundbreaking. Just classic, normal, every year, Summer attire. Maybe that is because I live in coastal New England, and maybe it is a New England thing, but I wonder?

I love all the different tucks, it rejuvenated my wardrobe. I don’t see many doing tucks in my area, but I like being a front runner!

I don’t like long dresses. They only look good on tall thin women. And the baggy shapeless dresses look bad on everyone.

I’m 67 and short. Wide leg pants that are above the ankle looks like high waters on me. Plus I have large thighs. If I could lose weight in my belly I would tuck my shirt in. I hate wearing short dresses. I find them uncomfortable especially sitting. I don’t mind a long maxi skirt.
