A London-headquartered wealth management firm has opened a new office in Cheltenham. JM Finn was founded by John M Finn in 1946 and is now majority owned by Delen Private Bank, a family-owned business with a 93% stake. The remainder of the company is owned by its staff.

The addition of the Gloucestershire base, in Darwin House on Rodney Road, brings the number of regional offices owned by the business to five. JM Finn leased and renovated the space before moving in on Monday (January 12).

Ian Posgate, investment director and head of the new office, said: “We are delighted to have found and moved into our new office and already the local business community has made us feel incredibly welcome.

“As a team, we’re excited to show our clients and any new business partners our new premises, which have been fitted out to the very high standards that underline JM Finn’s commitments to clients.”

The rest of the team, who joined JM Finn last year, have come together having previously worked for another firm in Ombersely, near Droitwich.

Hugo Bedford, JM Finn chief executive, said: “Cheltenham is an ideal location for us to have a base and to expand our regional footprint and I’m delighted we’ve found such a great office for the team.

“I look forward to meeting their clients and other private wealth advisers there in due course and bringing our client service driven approach to wealth management to a wider audience.”

Mr Posgate, who lives just north of Cheltenham, joined from EFG Harris Allday and is reunited with his former colleagues Liam Shelton, Amelia Hobbs, Mark Burnett and Richard Cleary.

JM Finn’s Cheltenham office is four-storey Darwin House, located at the junction of Rodney Road and Regent Street next to the Promenade and Regent Arcade retail areas.
