Broadcaster Lizzie Cundy has launched a scathing critique of Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, declaring she doesn’t trust him “one bit”.

Speaking to GB News, Cundy drew on maternal wisdom to question Starmer’s reliability.

“As my mum used to say, when I used to go out with a boy, look at the track record – and I’m looking at his track record, which has been full of lies,” she stated.

Her comments come amid fresh concerns over Labour’s stance on Brexit and potential negotiations with the European Union.

Cundy pointed to specific examples of what she sees as Labour’s broken promises, particularly regarding farmers.

“Let’s just go back to 2023, when he was at the NFU conference for the farmers, saying that he would support them and be there for them,” she told GB News.

She claimed farmers are “in tears” about threats to their livelihoods.

The broadcaster also highlighted Labour’s stance on National Insurance changes.

“Rachel Reeves said she wouldn’t do it, and we heard her say it. And now they’ve done it,” Cundy stated.

“Rachel Reeves said she wouldn’t do it, and we heard her say it. And now they’ve done it,” Cundy stated.

She criticised Labour’s impact on pensioners, stating they are “freezing this winter”.

Cundy fumed: “I think we all know that that was very carefully and cleverly done by them saying it’s for working people – we’re all working people. Even the pensioners are working people.

“They’ve worked all their lives, and look what they’ve done to the pensioners. They’re freezing this winter. And I think it’s absolutely disgraceful what they’re doing, and they’re going back on every word. So no, I don’t trust him one bit.”

A Government spokesman addressed concerns about Labour’s EU strategy.

They stated Labour is “resetting its relationship with the EU” and aims to “strengthen cooperation, to make people safer and tackle barriers to trade, to help drive economic growth”.

The spokesman emphasised clear boundaries regarding future EU relations.

“We have been clear that there will be no return to the customs union, single market or freedom of movement,” they said.

They concluded by affirming their commitment to the fishing industry, stating: “The UK government will always work to protect the interests of our fishers.”
