'Heartbreaking' Real Reason Brooklyn Beckham Blocked Parents

The ‘heartbreaking’ real reason Brooklyn Beckham blocked his parents, David and Victoria, has emerged, as family relations remain strained. The 26-year-old reportedly told friends that online posts tagging or mentioning him had affected him.

Brooklyn wanted any attempts at reconciliation to happen “privately,” rather than in the public glare of social media. But celebrity lives rarely stay private, and this past Christmas, the Beckham family feud again made headlines.

According to TMZ, tensions began when Brooklyn’s younger brother, Romeo, started dating British model and DJ Kim Turnbull, with Brooklyn reportedly questioning Turnbull’s motives. Strains have continued since Brooklyn met Nicola Peltz, the 30-year-old American actress, as he appears to have increasingly distanced himself from the rest of the family, ultimately blocking them all on social media.

According to The Mirror, Brooklyn’s decision to send a legal letter to his parents asking them to stop contacting him was aimed at protecting his mental health. The letter, sent last summer, instructed David and Victoria to communicate only through his lawyers and to cease direct contact.

A source familiar with the situation says the step came only after his “requests to stop” had been ignored. “It had been leading to issues with his mental health….it was to protect himself,” the source adds. However, in Brooklyn’s eyes, tensions worsened after the letter, with Victoria liking one of his pictures and David posting a black-and-white childhood photo of him at Christmas. He has since blocked his parents online.

One of the underlying issues, according to friends, is that Brooklyn feels his parents still see him as a child rather than as an adult. “Even the Xmas post by his dad was of Brooklyn as a child,” a friend said.

Brooklyn is reportedly hurt by claims that his wife, Nicola Peltz, is somehow behind the estrangement. “This narrative is so sexist and misogynistic, and he does not stand for his wife being vilified in this way. It’s a story as old as time: blame the woman for the man’s actions. It’s just deeply insulting,” a source said.

David and Victoria were devastated by the legal request to block all direct contact. They are “desperately sad” about the situation, and friends say every attempt at contact has been made with reconciliation in mind. “They are only doing what every parent would do in this situation… they love Brooklyn deeply and will always be there for him,” a source added.

The feud intensified after Brooklyn and Nicola did not attend David’s 50th birthday celebrations in London and later did not invite the Beckhams to renew their wedding vows. Brooklyn has remained in touch with both sets of grandparents. “While things between him and his parents are over… Brooklyn is still very fond of his grandparents. There is a lot of love for them, and that has never faltered,” a source said.

Reflecting on the vow renewal last August, Brooklyn said: “We just wanted a really beautiful experience. To be honest, I could renew my vows every single day with her. I think the most important thing that someone can do is find that person that they’re going to spend the rest of their life with. It definitely shapes you as a person. Yeah, it was really, really cute. It was really fun.”
