Harley Haddow has said the move is part of its long-term growth plan across the UK
A Scottish-headquartered engineering consultancy that has completed projects for the likes of BAFTA and Arsenal has opened a new office in Bristol as it looks to expand its presence across the UK.
Harley Haddow has appointed chartered engineer Scott Murray to lead the new South West office. Mr Murray has more than 25 years’ experience in mechanical, electrical and public health engineering, and has worked across heritage refurbishments, urban regeneration, large-scale residential masterplans and commercial developments,
He will be responsible for establishing and growing Harley Haddow’s South West operation, working with clients and the wider practice to deliver “technically robust, sustainably led and commercially viable projects”, the company said.
Harley Haddow was established in Scotland in 1950 and now has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fort William, Inverness, London and Manchester. The company opened its North West base in 2022.
It is understood the move into the South West is part of a long-term plan to offer a “complete suite of engineering services” to customers across the country.
According to Harley Haddow, the launch also comes at a “pivotal time” for the region, with “significant opportunities” emerging across retrofit and refurbishment, life sciences, research facilities and advanced manufacturing.
Mr Murray said: “Bristol is a city with a strong creative and sustainable identity that aligns closely with Harley Haddow’s values. Harley Haddow has clear ambitions for the future and this dynamism and forward-thinking mindset really matches that of the city and the South West business community.
“The next property cycle in Bristol won’t just be about how much we build, but how well we adapt what already exists.”
The company added: “The launch of the Bristol office marks the next chapter in Harley Haddow’s growth strategy, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable engineering and long-term partnerships across the UK.”
