Fire engines and police cars were seen at the incident
A major road in the centre of Cardiff was taped off while emergency services responded to an ongoing incident on Tuesday evening. Police officers and fire crews were seen descending on Wood Street Bridge in the city centre at around 5.15pm.
It is understood emergency services were responding to concerns for the safety of an individual. The bridge, above the River Taff, was closed in both directions while emergency services worked at the scene.
The road was closed for around an hour, reopening at about 6.15pm after the incident was resolved.
Crowds gathered around the police cordon as pedestrians were told to walk along Millennium Walk to get to the other side of the embankment.
Three fire engines, two fire cars and multiple police vehicles were seen near the bridge at the height of the incident.
