‘Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed,’ they added.

Via its Instagram page, the show also said: ‘Just a reminder that the Love Island launch show has been delayed due to wildfires near the Villa in South Africa.

‘Everyone is safe though and we’re working on bringing you an iconic series, so keep an eye on our socials and we’ll let you know the new launch date as soon as we can.’

The new series of Love Island: All Stars will air on ITV2 AND ITVX at 9pm on Thursday.

This comes after the production crew had been working to resume filming midweek.

The Sun had previously reported that the scheduled shooting on the show had been cancelled after it was deemed ‘too dangerous’ to have Jama and the crew there.

A source told the publication over the weekend: ‘They have now cancelled filming today and are hoping to resume tomorrow. ITV will always put the welfare of the cast and crew above the show.

‘But this is a huge headache and will make everything a far closer call when it comes to getting enough footage in the can for Monday night’s launch show.

‘Naturally, if the fire is still posing a risk the show will be pushed back again.’
