Arsenal have thus far endured a quiet January transfer window with that set to remain the same after a big Mikel Arteta decision
Arsenal look set to sanction no major arrivals or exits in the January transfer window. Sporting director Andrea Berta negotiated several marquee moves this past summer to put the Gunners in a great position, but market opportunities could change that stance.
Antoine Semenyo was certainly one of those, though the decision was made to not pursue his services in this trading period with Manchester City taking advantage to sign him from Bournemouth. Marc Guehi is another option linked to Arsenal and Pep Guardiola’s side with it possible he departs Crystal Palace this month.
Before looking at bringing players in, Arsenal will likely want to sanction exits, even if they are only on a temporary basis. Ethan Nwaneri was one star on the fringes, possibly facing that scenario, but that no longer looks to be the case.

Though there is not too much movement in north London, other Premier League clubs have been very busy with one former Arsenal star on the move. With all of that being said, Mirror Football has taken a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours.
Nwaneri transfer update
Bournemouth and West Ham United have both been linked to Nwaneri, but the Mirror’s sister-title football.london understands he is not available for loan.
Nwaneri started Arsenal’s FA Cup third round triumph over Portsmouth with that his first minutes since early December.
On his performance and patience, Arteta said: “Well, that he deserves that, basically. Obviously, because of the strength of the squad and the players that are in the position, he hasn’t been able to play and today he’s done it. And I think he had some very good minutes.”
Despite his lack of minutes before this past weekend, it is understood that Arsenal do not deem a temporary move for the versatile attacker as essential.
Berta January priority
Though Arsenal do not currently plan to make January moves, it looks set to still be a busy month for Berta.
That is because, according to The Athletic, the Gunners are already drawing up plans for the upcoming summer window.
Marc Guehi could certainly feature in those with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, Rafael Leao of AC Milan and Juventus star Kenan Yildiz potential options for a blockbuster wide forward signing.
Former Arsenal star on the move
Donyell Malen is getting closer to leaving Aston Villa for AS Roma, according to The Telegraph. They have claimed a deal looks set to be completed as an initial loan with a £25million obligation-to-buy included.
He has made 29 appearances this season with seven goals scored and two assists to his name. His exit looks to be based purely on footballing reasons with his desire to play as a striker unlikely to be consistently met at Villa Park.
The Dutchman came through Arsenal’s academy before later playing for PSV and Ajax in his home country. Malen then joined Borussia Dortmund and spent three-and-a-half years in Germany before signing for Unai Emery’s side in January 2025.
